2013 NORWOOD MORIALTA FORMAL AFTER PARTY

Dear parents, Introduction This letter has been prepared to advise you of the arrangements that have been put in place for a private gathering the evening after the Norwood Morialta High School Formal on Friday the 28th of June 2013, to enable the 2013 Year 12 students and their guests to enjoy a party to celebrate the conclusion of their formal. Please note that this is not a school event. A number of people have been involved in contributing ideas and offers of help to ensure the party runs smoothly and safely. On the evening, the event will be coordinated with the support of adults, parents and professional security guards. If there are any parents that would be able to help volunteer to ensure the smooth running of the event please contact either Tess Morris: 0434 823 770 or Claudia Daddona: 0449 921 291 with full name and contact number. We need your support! We would like all parents of the students invited to the party to understand the arrangements that have been put in place for the event, and to be aware of the need for all students and their parents to share in the responsibility of providing a secure, supervised and enjoyable evening. Venue The event will take place at a private property in Picadilly, A 20-minute drive from the CBD. The address will be provided later on to prevent any gatecrashers. Important Note: If the attendee, in the opinion of the security guards or adults, they are incapable of conducting themselves in an appropriate manner due to the suspected ingestion of drugs and/or alcohol, parents will be contacted immediately and asked to retrieve their child as soon as possible. No ALCOHOL will be provided at the event. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for this event to occur in. Entry Access to and from the venue will be strictly by invitation. Any attendees driving themselves to the party will be refused entry at the gate to the property. Entry to the venue will begin at 12:00pm. Attendees must organize transportation (parents, taxis, mini buses) but under no conditions are they allowed to drive themselves/others to the event. There will be a charge of $30 to cover the setup costs, including the DJ, associated equipment, security and water.

Health, Safety & Security The health, safety and security of all guests are of paramount importance. Professional and licensed security personnel will be engaged to assist with the care and control of all those attending the event. They will be present upon arrival and will remain throughout the event and until all guests have departed at the conclusion of the event. A number of parents and adults will be present at the function. Unlimited water will be provided to ensure the guest do not become dehydrated. Photo ID will need to be presented by guests to parents/security staff upon arrival at venue, prior to having his/her name checked off the official invitation list. Belonging and bags will to be placed in a secure area for access during the function and collection after the function under complete supervision by adults and the guest will receive a number to ensure correct bags are returned at the conclusion of the event. Co-operation In the interests of promoting a safe and harmonious environment for the event, it is recommended that you make your sons and daughters aware of the contents of this letter. Please encourage them to help to make a success of the event by looking after themselves and their friends and by acting responsibly in all circumstances. Responsibility All reasonable steps will be taken by the host and security personnel to ensure that all the participants at this event enjoy themselves within a safe and secure venue. Without the goodwill and generosity of the venue host this event would not be possible. Your support, and your commitment to encouraging the responsible behaviour of your child and all those attending, is an essential part of this endeavour. As young adults, it is expected that all attendees will have read and understood the contents of this letter, and the need for all attendees to take responsibility for their own behaviour. Please understand we will NOT be responsible should your child choose to ignore these instructions and the expected standards of acceptable behaviour.

Alcohol No Alcohol will be provided by the organizers of the event. Alcohol is allowed on the premises, however if any guest if in the opinion of the host or security guards are incapable of conducting themselves in an appropriate manner due to the suspected ingestion of drugs and/or alcohol. In this event whether due to their condition, behaviour, or sudden ill health, an assisting parent will telephone the contact number provided for that person and make arrangements with their parent/guardian for their safe retrieval by the parent/guardian.

Unlimited water will be provided. The host expressly reserves the right to ask security personnel to conduct reasonable enquiry and searches in relation to enforcing that no illicit drugs are brought into the venue. Important note: Conclusion Please do use this letter as the basis of providing an open and adequate explanation of arrangements to parents, students and their guests at the event. The event is invitation only, and accordingly, in order to help avoid unwanted attention (gate crashers) or notoriety about the event, please do not publicise these arrangements more widely than on a need to know basis. Publicly posting the event on Facebook or on other social media is expressly forbidden and the offending posters will be refused entry and denied a refund.Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and ensuring your son or daughter is aware of the conditions upon which this function is to be held.

Norwood 2013 Consent Form: This form must be returned to the nominated school representative and online payment of the $30 expense contribution per person no later than Wednesday 10th June 2013.
