Perapret VA

Finishing agent for permanent full and stiff finishing of textiles. Perapret VA imparts exceptional stiffness to the treated textiles. The resistance to washing is good, and if necessary, it can be improved still further by addition of N-methylol compounds.

Perapret VA

Nature Physical form Storage

Polymer dispersion derived polyvinyl acetate. Milky white aqueous dispersion with medium viscosity approx. 50% Perapret VA has a storage stability of 12 months. The product should be protected from frost.

Properties
pH Density Solubility Compatibility Weakly aicd, non ionic; approx. 1.08 g/ml; at 20 C Can be diluted with cold water in all proportions. Perapet VA is compatible with the Kaurit and Fixapret types; with most of the additives, filling and softening agents used in finishing (e.g. Siligen, Perapret, and Texapret types); with the catalysts commonly used in resin finishing, with the Ramasit and Persistol types. Perapret VA is a very economical filling and stiffening agent used mainly for finishing cellulosic fibres and blend fabrics containing cellulosic fibres. The Perapret VA film softens in water. After drying, however, it regains its original stiffness. This is a very beneficial for collar and cut interlinings, because it prevents abrasion of the shirting by the hard edges of the interlining in laundering. The good compatibility of the Ramasit and Persistol types is a very useful property. When used in not too large amounts (upto about 50 g/l), Perapret VA has only a slight influence on the water-repellent effect. After the impregnation, the pad rollers should be rinsed with water as soon as possible. When the plastics film has dried, cleaning takes much longer.
