12.1.

5 Protective Equipment Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is safety equipment that should be used by personnel if they are in a dangerous workplace (Cahyono, 2004).According Suma'mur (2009), personal protective equipment is a tool used to protect themselves against the dangers of workplace accidents. Use of PPE intended to protect tenaa work and also is an effort to prevent the occurrence of occupational accidents and occupational diseases by potential hazards on a company that can not be eliminated or controlled. Personal protective equipments diverse kinds.When stratified by body parts were protected, the types of personal protective equipment are as follows: a. Head Protector This device consists of a hair tie tools, hair coverings, hats of various materials. The purpose of using protective equipment is to protect the head from hazards bumped heads with sharp or hard objects, that are either falling, flying or gliding including protecting yourself from radiation heat corrosive chemicals. The type of work that requires protective headgear such tools work under the machines and work around the open energy conductor. b.Eye Protector Eye protection is used to protect the eyes from any possible contact with the danger of conceding a splash or dust, gases, vapors, corrosive liquids, particles floating or exposed to radiation of electromagnetic waves. Eye protection consists of two kinds, namely: Ordinary glasses

c. Face Protector Face protective equipment is used for workers who have direct contact and bikut at risk from existing hazards such as using a tool having a job that causes the particles, fly abrasive material, work with handheld devices which cause cuts, work with chemicals that can cause injury, irritation including worked in a factory containing these materials.

e. Body Protector Protective clothing for the body to provide protection from heat, water, cold, rain, wind, chemicals, etc.. The clothing should be easy to see, and provide physical protection for mechanical collisions resulting injuries.

f. Hand Protector

Hand protection is used to protect the arm from pieces of objects, abrasion, extreme temperatures, contact with chemicals that cause skin irritation and dermatitis, kontakdengan corrosive chemicals. g.Feet Protector Gaiters (safety shoes) are used to protect the soles of the feet of the risk crushed, splashed material which causes damage to the skin, slipped, electrical shock at work and protect your feet from extreme environmental conditions.Examples of tools like shoe leather gaiters, rubber boots, rubber boots, anti slip shoes, shoes coated steel, plastic shoes, shoes with wooden soles / cork, protective calves, legs and ankles.
