RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE GAME:

The tournament is opened to all students of the University of Mauritius having a valid Student ID Card. A team may comprise of students from any faculty.

1). GAME DURATION: 2 halves of 5 minutes each and 1 minute half time

2).NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND SUBSTITUTIONS: 3 playing and 2 substitutes Unlimited substitutions within the integrity of the game

3).ON THE FLY SUBSTITUTIONS: Substitutions may occur on the fly, but must be done once substituted player has completely left the field. Should a player entering be on the field at the time the exiting player is, he/she will be called for a penalty and the other team will take possession.

4). GOAL SCORING: A goal is scored when it has wholly crossed the line. If a player kicks the ball from their defensive half across the midfield line and the ball hits another player (offensive or defensive) and the ball goes in the goal, a goal will be awarded. There is no scoring from the offensive player's side of their field. The ball must cross the mid line by a player, not in flight or in motion, in order for a goal to count (if occurs the result is a goal kick for the opposing team).

5).THE SEMI CIRCLE RULE: Defending teams should not have a player that remains all the time in the semi circle while defending. If ever a defender do remain in the semi circle for more than 10 seconds, an indirect free-kick will be awarded to the opposing team.

6). YELLOW CARDS: Players that commit serious fouls, in the discretion of the referee, will be cautioned and shown a yellow card. A 1 minute penalty will occur whereupon the player may not enter field until the official permits them to. No substitutes are allowed on the field while player who committed the infraction is serving their penalty. Players that receive two yellow cards in one game will be shown a red card and ejected from the game.

7). RED CARDS: Players that commit very serious fouls or show continual disobedience, in the discretion of the referee, will be shown a red card and ejected from the game. Descent or unsportsmanlike conduct or harassment of the official will result in an immediate suspension from the game, and will be reviewed to see if it will result from a expulsion from the tournament. Any player receiving a red card will automatically be suspended from their next game (no exceptions). Players that are red carded need to leave the immediate playing area. If a player receives a red card for fighting, they will be ejected from all tournament play.

8). PENALTY KICKS: In case of a draw match, 3 penalties will be taken from the centre of the field in the half circle. Team scoring more goals while having taken the same number of penalties wins the match.

9). BALL EXITING FIELD OF PLAY: All throw-ins, goal kicks, free-kicks and corner kicks should be taken by foot only. Otherwise, it will be awarded to the opposing team.
