Adaptive suspension. This optional suspension stands for exceptional driving
comfort, increased agility and precise handling. A noticeably rmer damper setting
is activated when the Sport or Sport+ mode is selected via the Driving Experience
Control switch. The adaptive suspension also features a chassis that has been
lowered by millimetres without impacting on the exceptional comfort of the
new BMW Series Gran Turismo.
Aerodynamics. The new BMW Series Gran Turismo has been aerodynamically
optimised with meticulous attention to detail and boasts excellent air-resistance
gures. Many factors contribute to this streamlined success such as the Air Curtain
on the front apron and the new Air Breather in the front wheel arches. These
technologies considerably reduce the level of wind turbulence around the front
wheels.
Active Protection. All safety features in the new BMW Series Gran Turismo are
part of a perfectly coordinated system. Such as the six airbags included as standard
that provide the best possible protection. In potentially dangerous situations, the
optional Active Protection package automatically increases the tension in the front
seat belts and closes any open windows as well as the optional Panorama glass
roof. If an accident occurs, an automatic braking function brings the vehicle to a
complete stop, which signicantly helps to prevent follow-on collisions.
Full-colour BMWHead-Up Display. Helping you keep your eyes on the trafc
at all times: with this item of optional equipment, relevant driving information is
projected directly in the drivers eld of vision via a full-colour TFTdisplay. The full-
colour BMWHead-Up Display shows you your current speed, the speed limit and
any overtaking restrictions, as well as navigation directions. With more colours, its
easier to read the information projected onto the windscreen. So the driver can stay
focused on the road ahead, making driving safer and less stressful.
Eight-speed sport automatic transmission with Auto Start/Stop function.
With this optional equipment, the driver can change gears using the gear lever or
the paddles on the Sport leather steering wheel. In Sport mode, the gear shifts are
congured for increased dynamics, faster engine speed transitions and even shorter
shift times. Just like the optionally available eight-speed automatic transmission
with Auto Start/Stop function, the particularly smooth gear shifts ensure optimal
