Daniel Vargas Civil Engineering and Architecture Parking Lot Plan Brief Overview of Parking Lot The parking

g lot for the extension of the school will consist of a parking lot cut in half by a one-way street in the middle. Each half of the parking lot will be almost exactly identical. The combined total number of parking lots will be an estimated 250. The reason that the parking plan is divided in half is to show symmetry between the two sides. Area of Parking Lot The piece of land where the parking lots are going to be placed measured accordingly 350ft. by 150ft. on each side of the street. The parking lot will began after a five foot setback that will be put into effect around the entire perimeter of the parking lot. The parking lots will also began after a twenty-foot set back from the location of the extension of the school. Orientation of Parking Lot The parking lot is placed behind the school almost perfectly lined up to the end of the school to show balance. There will be an almost identical parking lot across Gibson Street, which will be a one-way street. There will be an entrance to both parking lots on Gibson St. There will also be an entrance to both parking lots through W Ross St. And there will be a cross walk at the end of the 20 ft. setback to join the two parking lots. Orientation Inside Parking Lot Inside both parking lots combined there will be an estimated total of 250 parking lots. The parking lots are measured out each at about 150ft. by 350ft. Inside the parking lot around the outer edges will be located 90 degree angled parking spots. The flow of the parking lot around will be two-way lanes. In the middle section of both part of the parking lot there will be one-way lanes with the parking spots angled at 75 degrees. So the two-way lanes are 24ft. wide and the one-way lanes are measured at a width of 15ft. wide. In both parking lot sections we have placed 12 accessible handicapped parking spots (double the required amount). The accessible parking spots have four accessible ramps measuring 5ft. in width dividing each section into three accessible parking spots. Each one-way section parking spot lane is enclosed with a green-area peninsula. These peninsulas combine will measure at about 40sq.ft. At two of the four, two-way entrances there will be a section of green area peninsula. These peninsulas will measure at about 200 sq.ft. Each. The other two-way entrances will only have one entrance measuring at 200sq.ft as well. The parking lot will contain three sections of green-area peninsula each

Daniel Vargas Civil Engineering and Architecture measuring at about 400 sq.ft. The section of parking lot behind the school will contain a loading berth and a section for the dumpster measuring all together at about 2800sq.ft. Altogether. There will also be walkway surrounding the entire area of both sections of the parking lot. And the appropriate amount and types of plants will be placed in the requiring peninsula for aesthetic purposes. Curb will be located at the front of each of the 90-degree parking spots. Appropriate lighting will be though out and placed as necessary. Flow of parking lot Like stated, N Gibson St. will be a one-way street leading up to the front side of the school. The driver will either have the option of entering either section of parking lot by this street. The left section of the parking lot will be the first to offer entrance to the parking and as the driver continues forward they will have another option of entering to their right section. Along traveling W Ross St. towards N Gibson St the driver will have the option of entering the right (first) section first followed by the left (second) section to their right as well.
