How do I get there?

prepositions of direction
Prepositions of direction are used to clarify the direction of someone or something. They appear with verbs of motion.

across along around down into off onto out of past through toward up

from one side to the other parallel to the length or direction of to go along the outside of a place to get to the other side along the course of to move inside of something moving away / down from to a place or position on; upon to move outside of something beyond in position in at one end and out at the other in the direction of to move toward an elevated place

She ran across the bridge. I was walking along the road. Go around the park to get to the train station. Walk down the street and turn left. He got into the ambulance. There are several verb-preposition combinations that have the meaning of continuing or resuming an action. These are casual expressions, often used with an exclamation for emphasis. Some of the expressions have idiomatic meanings. hang on (to the rope)! carry on dream on lead on rock on continue to hold tightly or please wait! resume what you were doing continue dreaming; a funny way of saying that is an unrealistic goal resume or continue leading us continue playing rock music or continue doing a great job!
