Unit Plan Overall Idea Matrix

Target Audience (make sure to describe number, age, and abilities of students) Special education in a mild-moderate classroom K-2nd It will be a classroom with approximately 15-20 students.

Overall Objectives The students will be able to identify rhymes given a passage from Cat in the Hat with 90% accuracy. Given an image of a character from Cat in the Hat the students will be able to identify the emotions being portrayed with 90% accuracy. Given a passage from Cat in the Hat the students will be able to correctly identify the characters emotions. The students will be able to correctly match objects given pictures form the story Cat in the Hat with 90% accuracy. Given a set of shapes the student will be able to identify what the shapes are with 90% accuracy.

Given a set of directions the students will accurately follow them to create the completed project.

Materials that Need to Be Created We are going to reenact the story of Cat in the Hat. iMovie, semi-costumes, ipad/computer, educreation I am going to make several pages of interactive SmartBoard activities for the Smartboard, computer, student to practice their matching and identifying shapes skill. software We are going to use this to create and word bank of Cat in the Hat words Computer, software and have the match the right categories. I will use powerpoint to show pictures of emotions with characters in the Computer, software book and also have passages form the book that students can read to identify an emotion.
