INSTALLATION
w/ Side mudguard: INSTALL SIDE MUDGUARD (a) 2-Door vehicle: Clean the body mounting surface. (1) Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60C (104 - 140F). (2) Remove the adhesive tape from the body. (3) Wipe off stains with cleaner. (b) Install the 4 bolts and side mudguard No. 2 retainer. (c) Install the side mudguard. (1) 2-Door vehicle: Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding. Body: 40 - 60C (104 - 140F) Moulding: 20 - 30C (68 - 86F) NOTICE: Do not heat the moulding excessively. (2) 2-Door vehicle: Lift the moulding release sheet from face of moulding. NOTICE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area. (3) Install the 3 bolts and screw. (4) Align the bosses with their corresponding holes in the body and press firmly on the moulding. 1. CLEAN AND SHAPE CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY (a) Using a knife, cut away any rough areas on the body. HINT: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible. (b) Clean the cutting surface of the adhesive with a piece of shop rag saturated in cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body. 2. (a) (b) CLEAN REMOVED GLASS Remove the damaged stoppers. Using a scraper, remove the adhesive sticking to the glass. (c) Clean the glass with cleaner. NOTICE: S Be careful not to damage the glass. S Do not touch the glass face after cleaning it.

3. INSTALL NEW STOPPERS Attach new stoppers to the glass with the ceramic notches on the glass aligned with the stoppers as shown in the illustration. A: 15.9 mm (0.626 in.)

POSITION GLASS Place the glass in the correct position. Check that all contacting parts of the glass rim are perfectly even. Place reference marks between the glass and body. Remove the glass.

14. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS (a) Disconnect the connector. (b) Push piano wire through from the interior. (c) Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects. HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched. NOTICE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and exterior. (d) Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it. HINT: Cut the adhesive areas as shown in the illustration, leaving the adhesive where the stoppers are.

Let the piano wire pass as shown in the illustration, cut off the adhesive sticking to the stoppers, then remove the glass. NOTICE: S Do not damage the glass stoppers. S Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible when cutting off the glass.

Loosen the body side hinge nuts to adjust. Torque: 25 Nm (260 kgfcm, 19 ftlbf) Install the front seat outer belt and center pillar lower garnish (See page BO-1 10). Install the front and rear door scuff plates.

3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH (a) Pry out clips by your hand. (b) Pull the garnish upward to remove it. (c) Use the same manner described above to the other side. 4. REMOVE WIPER ARMS Remove the 2 wiper arm head caps, 2 nuts and 2 wiper arms. 5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVERS (a) Remove the hood to cowl top seal. (b) Remove the 7 clips, then pull out the cowl top ventilator louver RH and LH. 6. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP 7. REMOVE FRONT SIDE OF ROOF HEADLINING (See page BO-86 or BO-90 )

8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING (a) Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown. NOTICE: Do not damage the body with the knife. (b) Remove the remaining moulding.

(b) HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.

REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS Push piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.

NOTICE: When separating the glass, be careful not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.
