Hov Pod SPX LM
The Hov Pod is a purpose designed leisure and commercial hovercraft introduced in 2002 to great acclaim.

The successful introduction of the Hov Pod created significant demand and it soon became apparent that the glass fibre manufacturing
process was too labour intensive. The time to build hulls restricted sales, and as many customers wanted next day delivery to have their
Hov Pod in time for summer vacation, long delivery times were unacceptable and sales were lost as a consequence.

Manufacturer Reaction International Ltd reached a volume of sales that enabled them to make significant investment to invest in a new
hull production process. The new SPX hulls are manufactured from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) This material was chosen because
it is lightweight, impact resistant, and far stronger than glass fibre. HDPE is also a very buoyant material, so the SPX hull is safer in
marine operation. So far as we are aware, the Hov Pod SPX is the only hovercraft available to be manufactured from HDPE; no other
hovercraft has the strength and safety characteristics offered by this hovercraft, it is unique.

Consequently, with the introduction of the Hov Pod SPX in January 2008, sales really took off – the unique advantages of the SPX hull
created a safer, stronger leisure and commercial hovercraft. A number of Hov Pod dealers saw opportunities to sell a greater number of
craft if they were able to assemble craft locally; they saw the business opportunities possible through the popularisation of leisure
hovercraft, to rival the market dominance in the personal watercraft market enjoyed by Jet Skis. The increased risk from flooding as a
consequence of global warming has also made hovercraft popular with rescue organisations and commercial operators involved in
coastal surveying, oil exploration etc.

The Hov Pod SPX development project enables us to produce more hulls in a shorter period of time so we are happy to announce the
introduction of the Hov Pod SPX LM (Local Manufacture) model, and this specification sheet describes what is included in this sub
assembly, as well as the conditions of sale.

Description

The Hov Pod SPX LM is not a kit of parts. The Hov Pod SPX LM is
a fully factory assembled Hov Pod including all parts fully fitted,
with the exception of engine, engine drive shaft assembly, and
drive belt, wiring or engine gauges.

What is included

The pictures to the right show the Hov Pod LM comprising of Hull,
Duct Assembly with Fan Assembly, Rudders and Steering
Assembly. One full set of thicker grade black skirts is fitted, also
hard seat pack with drop in tray, and double section engine cover.
The nose cone has mirrors but no gauge panel since different
engines require different gauges. A full set of Hov Pod Graphics is
also supplied.

We can supply additional options as per the standard price and

option selector.

Hull colours are available in Red, Blue and Green

Benefits
If dealers keep stock available for next day delivery, they can increase sales volume. Shipping costs can be reduced if dealers are able
to ship a number of SPX LM hulls (5) per 40-foot container. Import tax is levied as a % of value, so overall tax reduces if the products
imported are of lower value. Some countries reduce import duty on goods supplied for local assembly. By purchasing engines from local
sources, further import tax savings can be made, and dealers can source engines from a wider range of suppliers, often at lower costs
due to exchange rates.
