Level College Course Unit Title Unit Briefing Date Context In this unit you will be given the opportunity to choose from 3 formats: Live Project, Work Placement or Dissertation to explore the most relevant and specific contexts (critical and professional) of your research as it becomes increasingly focussed through your Individual Programme of Study. 1. Brief Description/Specification of Task Dissertation option requires you to research develop and complete a dissertation that conforms to academic standards and conventions that explores a research question relevant to your Individual Programme of Study. Work Placement requires you to initiate and complete a work placement in a professional context that is relevant to the focus of your Individual Programme of Study. You will be expected to submit a report on your experience that records your reflection and evaluation of your experience relating the professional and critical issues to your Individual Programme of Study. Live Project requires you to initiate and complete a live public project in a professional context that is relevant to the focus of your Individual Programme of Study. You will be expected to submit a report on your experience that records your reflection and evaluation of your experience relating the professional and critical issues to your Individual Programme of Study. Indicative Content A self-initiated research project that extends and tests your critical position in a theoretical or professional context specific to your Individual Programme of Study and relevant to your graduation plans Extending your levels of independence and autonomy in relation to your learning and practice

Primary research/account of experience maximum 3000 words; word processed. Bibliography Appendix to include relevant information e.g. database, cv., appropriate examples of correspondence and other supportive material. NB: Harvard academic writing conventions must be used when evidencing research in your text i.e. citing and quoting. *The college will retain 1 copy. OR
