> Request for Proposal issued to prequalified Design/Builders > Proposals due July, 2013 > Contract Award and Notice to Proceed issuance end of 2013 > Design/Build activities begin

3rd Party Utility Relocation > Excavation and conduit installation by AT&T > 1st St from Central Av. to E/O Alameda St. > Anticipated to start this summer > Anticipated work hours are Monday Friday: 9am -3:30pm; Saturday: 8am 6pm > Work with community to ensure Nisei Week is a successful event (August)

Information on Metros Request for an Extended Work Hours

Summary of Work Hours


Daytime Allowable Hours Monday Friday: 7am - 9pm
Saturday: 8am -6pm No Sunday work

Extended Hours Monday Friday: 9pm - 7am of the following day Saturday: Before 8am & after 6pm
All day Sunday

Peak Traffic Hour: Restricts construction from 6am 9am and from 3:30pm 7pm, Monday through Friday. Holiday Moratorium: Restricts construction from before Thanksgiving to after New Years Day holidays.

> Metro requests extended work hour variances from City codes > Variances allow longer work hours, including nights and on Sundays > Continued approval is conditional on performance > All work will be scheduled in advance, with notice to community

> Compliance with the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) is required > Project Hotline operates 24 hours per day and 7 days a week > Metros team has used these variances on the successful Eastside Gold Line construction
