Purpose: With the rise of new platforms and the next generation of communication tools, the way in which MillerCoors employees communicate internally and externally continues to evolve. MillerCoors employees are encouraged to engage in and enjoy social media, but to use sound judgment while doing so. These guidelines outline the suggested appropriate use of social media. This document references and serves as a complement to the MillerCoors Acceptable Use and Code of Business Conduct policies. These guidelines apply to all employees of MillerCoors, its subsidiaries, and Tenth and Blake Beer Company (together referred to as MillerCoors). Social media includes all platforms using the Internet that allow posting, collaborating, and sharing of information and content (including but not limited to social networking sites, blogs, forums, discussion boards, photo and video sharing sites, wikis, virtual worlds). This includes personal, public and MillerCoors-associated pages. These guidelines will not be interpreted or applied so as to interfere with employee rights to selforganize, form, join or assist labor organization, to bargain collectively through representatives of their choosing, or to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection, or to refrain from engaging in such activities. For specific guidelines about branded Facebook and Twitter accounts, refer to the MillerCoors Policy for Branded Social Media. All employees are expected to understand and comply with these guidelines. Refer to the Acceptable Use Policy for implications of non-compliance or inappropriate engagement. Guidelines: Transparency x In social media, there is a fine line between personal and professional boundaries. Thus, transparency is important. Be sure to disclose your association when talking about MillerCoors, Tenth & Blake Beer Company, specific brands, events and promotions. x Disclosure within your profile on any social media platform is not by itself sufficient. x If your personal profile mentions association with MillerCoors, your profile must include a disclaimer that states the opinions are yours and not those of the company. x In order to identify yourself as an employee through a tweet, be sure to include the following hashtag. #emp for use by MillerCoors employees (Ex: Enjoying the new Miller Lite Punch Top Can. #ItsMillerTime #emp). x Only authorized MillerCoors profiles/accounts may use company logos, graphics and trademarked materials (exceptions must be cleared by the Legal Department). x Be honest and open in your conversations and be quick to admit any mistakes or errors. Respect x Treat your on-line conversation similar to a face-to-face conversation. x Create dialogue and encourage honest opinions. x Think carefully before you respond. x Dont pick fights, and when in a discussion, explain your reasoning in a constructive and respectful manner. If you encounter negative statements or discussions about MillerCoors, be sure to inform the Communications team so they can handle appropriately. x Do not make false or misleading statements about a competitor or partners.
