Recommendations:

Recognizes incorrect information as well as information not mentioned in the passage Perceives ideas that are suggested but not directly stated within a passage Understands the role of a certain statement in a passage Determines which person, place, or thing a pronoun refers to in the context of a passage. Restates an idea from a passage without altering its meaning Understands the logic of a reading passage and grammatical connections between sentences Distinguishes main ideas from supporting details Summarizes a passages using topic sentences Organizes important ideas and places them in the appropriate context Accomplishes reading tasks within the time frame given

Refresher course on grammar The student should be enrolled in a refresher course on grammar Speed development - Always administer timed tests to improve the students speed Computer-based practice tests - Give the student more computerbased tests Exposure to colloquial language - Encourage the student to watch American sitcoms, dramas, and romantic-comedy films, since these can help the student acquire colloquial expressions often used by native speakers and usually heard in the listening and speaking section of the TOEFL Exposure to academic materials - Have the student regularly read academic papers in online or printed journals and magazines. - Have the student watch documentaries, especially scientific ones. These measures will make him acquire academic jargon. -
