CADISON combines the engineering workflow in one system and thus significantly accelerates the planning processes. All users can see on their workplaces - either graphically or as schematic, as 3D model or text-based in a tree structure the same data and objects in each case so that they can be optionally used and modified on all workplaces through simple Drag & Drop. Data and/or objects are existing once only. Thus errors as a result of redundant data management are excluded. The sophisticated right system ensures that tasks are handled selectively. Modifications introduced by other users are immediately made available to all other users. The continuity of the individual work steps in one object-oriented database forms the core of the CADISON technology. CADISON uses the widespread platforms Autodesk AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio for graphical presentations.

CADISON 3D-Designer
The Module for 3D Layout- and Piping-Planning
3D Layout Planning
How would you like to start layout planning in CADISON? With an empty sheet of paper, through access to existing 3D models even AutoCAD models - or through access to data from Basic Engineering or P&ID? You can simply take your data either graphic data or data from plant structure through Drag & Drop and insert them in your 3D model for further processing as required.

CADISON Autorouter
The CADISON Autorouter decisively facilitates the graphic presentation of pipelines. For instance: CADISON automatically adds the correct flanges, seals and bolts when taking a valve from the schematic. Moreover, the required reducers are set automatically. Thus the work step from Basic Engineering to Detail Engineering is made much more efficient through CADISON. The object-oriented approach ensures that nothing will be forgotten during design phase. All modifications are automatically adopted in the 3D layout planning so that they are immediately available on all other workplaces.

Fully Automatic Fabrication Isometrics ISOGEN

If requested by customer, CADISON may generate fully automatic fabrication isometric from the 3D model. Thus it is possible to transform all pipelines designed by CADISON 3D-Designer into fabrication isometric in one operation. CADISON supports the recognized industrial standard ISOGEN and provides isometrics in this format. Simultaneous preparation of pipeline diagrams and isometrics results in substantial time saving and cost reduction.

Collision Tests
CADISON supports the visualization tool Navisworks that is recognized in plant engineering. This tool makes it easy to detect possible planning errors at any time and at an early stage so that project implementation is not jeopardized.

CADISON Electric-Designer
The Module for Planning of Electrical Equipment
Use the CADISON Electric-Designer to combine your plant planning efforts with process control engineering. You may plan your instrumentation with the same tools but mainly on the basis of same data and objects available to all other trades involved in the project.

Same Databasis for all Trades

Use CADISON Electric-Designer for preparation of all your required planning documents in the fields of power plant and control engineering, electrical installation technology and control cabinet layout for rapid and comfortable work on a common database of all trades. The PLT points (measuring points) defined by the process engineer are further detailed by CADISON ElectricDesigner with the required instrumentation. The electrical planning engineer bases his work on the specified media data and connection parameters delivered by the process engineer.

Typicals
Pre-fabricated typicals are used for automatic graphic generation and presentation of instrumentation in the measuring-point chart. The mechanical connection of measuring point to the process is displayed in the form of hook-ups. The planning engineer may use pre-fabricated typicals even in this case. This collection may be extended by the user at any time and adapted to its requirements.

PLC Configurator
The PLC configurator supports the work of electric planning engineer for management of input and output signals. Process flow can be presented in one function diagram with all signals.

Graphical Alignment
The plannned electrical equipment in a circuit diagram can be transmitted to a distributor layout plan through graphical alignment. The power distribution structure gives the planning engineer a survey about the power requirement in a plant. The planner will be supported with the generation of the integrated calculations for the balance of services. The power distribution scheme shows the conception of power supply and power distribution. Manufacturer-specific data are transmitted from the material catalogues to the operating equipment.

Collision Recognition
The line routing designed for installation planning may be used in 3D design even directly for recognition of any potential collisions with other trades. Manufacturer information on operating equipment includes details of all technical data and dimensions. Data available in this way form the basis for easy and rapid preparation of a control cabinet layout drawn to scale.

Facility Management
The CADISON Electric-Designer is used both for electrical planning of a plant in classical plant engineering and even for facility management. For example, this module is used for creation of documentations and for operation management of complex line networks.

Integrated Report Generator

All data prepared by means of CADISON Electric-Designer can be optionally issued by the integrated report generator. For example, such data might be terminal lists, cable lists or even selected material evaluations for individual rooms or construction sections. All reports can be revised and have release mechanisms. Said reports are directly stored within the CADISON project. Moreover, all documents of a project can be made available even automatically as PDF documents.

Key Features

CADISON uses the widespread platforms Autodesk AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio for graphical presentations.

CADISON P&ID-Designer
The Module for P&ID Project Environment
CADISON P&ID-Designer is a rulebased engineering solution that effectively supports the engineer in the plant design phase. Industrial and own standards make it possible to accurately design a plant with taking the correct planning decisions. The CADISON P&ID-Designer plays a decisive role in design, construction, commissioning and maintenance so that it has an important influence on the complete lifecycle of a plant. Apart from the P&I diagrams the P&ID-Designer even creates block flow charts and process flow diagrams (PFD). The CADISON P&ID-Designer is a graphic-based workplace. Beginning with a blank drawing, all main components known already may be positioned in the drawing by use of comprehensive catalogues (as per EN ISO 10628, ANSI etc.). Of course, access to projects prepared by use of other modules is possible as well, such as Project Engineer, and the objects may be easily inserted in the flow chart by means of Drag & Drop.

Automatic Structuring
During positioning of main objects, drives are graphically positioned as own objects and automatically linked with the associated main object. Pipe nozzles on tanks and vessels may be allocated to the tanks or vessels as subordinated objects. After connection of pipeline they are automatically given the diameter of pipeline. Moreover, manholes are treated as own objects and displayed separately from the tank nozzles.

Automatic Marking and Assignment

All positioned valves and fittings and the equipment are automatically given definite markings (e.g. DIN or KKS). The numbering system of which can be easily adapted to the company-specific requirements. Shown texts are aligned according to standard and managed on own inscription layers. Valves and fittings installed in lines are given the corresponding specification parameters from the pipeline. However, additional free inscriptions can be prepared but with all properties of the object given as fully associative texts. Inscription masks are available for short parts lists or complex inscriptions. The latter are directly linked with the object as well and are immediately updated in a dynamic mode.

Cross-sheet Processing
Cross-reference objects are available for cross-sheet processing that are consistently updated even in case the drawing data are changed (sheet numbers, drawing number etc.). The decision on data to be shown at the interfaces is freely configurable. When installing valves and fittings in pipelines, the system will be subdivided into single partial sections so that later processing is made easier. Thus even complex line routing with reducers etc. can be implemented but the pipeline system can be furthermore treated as a whole.

Dynamic Adaptation of Flow Direction

Pipelines and accessories (valves and fittings, tees etc.) have their definite flow direction. Butterfly valves, pumps etc. will automatically respond. Flow directions may be changed even in subsequent planning stages, and parts bound to a specific flow direction will be reversed automatically.

Automatic Path Finding

Being an integral module, CADISON P&ID-Designer offers the automatic path finding system. Thus more rapid navigation is possible so that simulations and process optimization can be accomplished. The controlled presentation of lines with colours and line types takes place in a parameterized mode via the stored configurations (company standards). The allocation of lines to pipe classes and fluids ensures that additional specifications and calculations are possible. All dependencies are included for automatic line inscriptions. Plant limits, even KKS functional units, can be graphically defined via a drawing so that all objects located inside may be immediately allocated. Thus the dependence on the plant is preserved and the superior marking system can be automatically used.

Independent Report Generator

All data created by means of CADISON P&ID-Designer can be issued by the integrated report generator in most different forms and formats. This could for instance be a list of valves and fittings or a preliminary computation for calculation of the required quantity structure. All reports can be revised and have release mechanisms. They are stored directly within the CADISON project. All documents can be presented even automatically as PDF.

Key Features
Rapid and intuitive preparation of basic, process and P&I flow charts Comprehensive symbol catalogues (DIN EN ISO 10628, ASME etc.) that can be freely prepared Rapid and easy change between different standard and freely definable identification systems (DIN, KKS etc.) Acceptance of existing objects per Drag & Drop (e.g. Project-Engineer and 3D-Designer) Placement of pre-defined sub-assemblies Easy preparation and management of symbols and sub-assemblies Easy detailing of objects from rough to fine specification through automated graphics exchange Cross-references across several drawings Cross-trade object navigation with visual highlight function Dynamic generation of control circuits Status-dependent examination and approval of modifications Flow direction control and consistency check across several drawings Automatic adjustment of project information and title block of drawing

CADISON Project-Navigator
The Module for Project Manager and Repair & Maintenance Staff
Throughout the plant design process an enormous number of data and information will be created. These data are not only relevant to the most different users in the planning and manufacturing process but also at a later date, i.e. after completion of the plant. Such data may be of interest to many other persons like the repair and maintenance staff. Normally, today it is still necessary for information procurement to evaluate heaps of folders or even digital documents, but not with Project-Navigator.

Viewing of Project Data

CADISON Project-Navigator is the module for viewing of project data within the corporate network. The navigator has been designed for staff members normally not involved in the active planning of a plant but afterwards responsible for operation and maintenance of the plant (i.e. mere data consumers). Since in a CADISON project all logic and functional interrelations are displayed, it is possible, e.g. in case a pump fails operation, to make visible all plant components affected by this failure. In case problems occur, all components, safety zones, pipe runs, hazardous areas etc. that might be affected are recognized and/or displayed. The integrated report generator will easily and rapidly issue the list you need.

Entitlement Concept
Of course, the existing entitlement concept is fully considered even in case of work with the CADISON Project-Navigator. Apart from that, all information is in principle only readable (Read-OnlyMode) but cannot be modified.

Easy Operation
The user surface is the one commonly known as surface of CADISON Project-Engineer. Thus very short training for use of this module is possible. The existing object inspector is available for easy and detailed viewing. Objects can be used for zooming directly to the respective part of the drawing. Thus users may profit from excellent abstracts about the existing situation. This access easy for data consumers contributes decisively to your competitiveness.

All data generated with the CADISON modules and available for use within the data base are forming the basis of the CADISON Project-Navigator. Such data might be single object information, schematics, calculations etc. The different perceptions stored in the data base permit rapid and easy viewing of searched object information. Data may be presented in several windows in parallel.

Integrated Report Generator

All data created with CADISON may be optionally edited through the integrated report generator. Such data might be a list of valves & fittings or a pipeline list. All reports can be revised and have release mechanisms. They are directly stored within the CADISON project. All documents can be delivered automatically as PDF.

From Quotation to Maintenance

The CADISON Project-Navigator is an important asset for your plant planning and construction efforts even in relation to the future plant operator. You should present the complete project digitally as CADISON project to the plant operator. The latter can use the CADISON Project-Navigator for very easy electronic access to all planning data. Thus the loop of Integrated Digital Plant Model will be closed.

Key Features
Central graphics-independent project platform Key turning point of the project Navigation and viewer tool for view of the CADISON project data For project control and subsequent further processing of project data during plant operation as paperless documentation Search, selection, list and report functions Across-trade object navigation with visual highlight function Call-up and issue of documents and drawings (plotting) without CAD Information for repair & maintenance of the plant Ease of utilization even for the plant operator Roll and target-specific views of the project Generation of most different reports (proposals, calculations, parts lists, apparatus lists, cable lists, lists of measuring points, lists of valves & fittings, pipeline material lists etc.) Automatic preparation of the complete project structure as PDF Strengthening of business relations with your customers through provision of project data

CADISON Project-Engineer
The Module for Project- and Plant-Engineers
Conceptual Engineering
CADISON Project-Engineer is your tool for design, calculation and detailing of your plant by adding all required components (objects) to the project while taking them from the catalogue. Simple Drag & Drop operations are sufficient with completely text based operations without the obligation to have a graphical environment. This approach is called Conceptual Engineering. The target of CADISON Project-Engineer is to provide the user with data for calculation without large efforts and already at a very early time.

Dynamic Cooperation with different Disciplines

CADISON offers different disciplines to the users, such as process engineering, project management, planning, design, electrical engineering and calculation, so that a common data pool is already available for work on the same project in a very early project phase.

No Redundancy
All information independent of the workplace where they are generated or modified is directly deposited in the project. Consequently, it is sufficient to depict the object information (e.g. the nominal delivery rate of a pump) only once, and subsequently it is immediately available to all users. It is irrelevant whether or not the modification is made on the object in the plant structure tree, in the P&I diagram, in the 3D layout plan, in the electric circuit diagram or in another module. In case one user of the above pump adds a parameter (e.g. the nominal delivery rate) another user may adapt the nominal diameters of connections accordingly. All different modules incorporate only another mode of consideration of the project. The concept of object-oriented database ensures 100 % data consistency and offers the strategic advantage of dynamic work in project groups.

Plant Conception
CADISON Project-Engineer helps the project engineer to design a specific plant. A number of questions must be answered, such as: Which are the mass balances? Which fluids shall be used? Which core components shall be included in the plant? What is the basis for plant structuring? Which components are required? Which equipment is required? Which pipelines shall be included in design? The above data is used and inserted by Drag & Drop in the structure tree and supplemented by detail information, if applicable. Data may be further developed and detailed at a later date or even in parallel already e.g. in P&ID-Designer or 3D-Designer. CADISON allows you to take your own decision on the method and selection of module for project processing.

Project Calculation and Tendering

Complete project calculation up to final tender preparation is directly possible from CADISON Project-Engineer. Even calculated values may be added to the actual technical data and information. Said calculation data can be called up either as fixed cost items or calculated through time objects. The deposited data can be summarized as single, group or project items. Capital structures can be developed and used for direct support in the tender planning stage through use of self-defined text modules.

Independent Report Generator

All data prepared with CADISON ProjectEngineer may be put out through the integral report generator in most different forms and formats. For example, such data could be a list of valves and fittings or an advance payment so that the required quantity structure can be calculated. All reports can be revised and have release mechanisms. Reports are directly stored within the CADISON Project.

CADISON MATPIPE
The Module for Pipe Class and Catalogue Management
Normally the planning of industrial plants is based on a number of key documents. Determination of pipe classes is an important component of Basic Engineering. The Basic Engineering defines the technical requirements with regard to fluid and pipe classes to be selected according to operating conditions so that the great variety of available pipeline components is limited and binding standards are established for Detail Engineering. Of course, costs are an important aspect as well since they will have a decisive influence later in the course of operation and stock-keeping. One of the key documents is the customers approval of pipe classes in the project. CADISON MATPIPE is the central pipe class and catalogue management system for use of the integral plant planning operation. Among others, the system ensures that your marking system introduced once before will be maintained in all planning documents. MATPIPE with its pipe classes may cover all phases of a project. Not only the basic but also the standard and project pipe classes are managed all three classes are managed side by side. CADISON MATPIPE supplies a number of pipe classes and manufacturer catalogues; others may be imported fully or partially via an easy to operate interface.

Specification without fully CAD Application

This module can be used as stand-alone and also concurrently. CAD Know-how is not required for component specification since MATPIPE provides its own design tool for specification and parameterization of objects. You may create simple 3D elements (e.g. a simple valve) or even complex structures (e.g. complete separators) as parametric descriptions. Apart from the 3D elements, even 2D symbolisms may be created for schematic diagrams or electrical equipment. This means in practice that a specification without CAD application is available. Direct and easy access to specification data ensures a high rate of standardization.

Simple Intuitive Surface

CADISON MATPIPE can be operated intuitively through a user surface that is easy and rapid to operate. For instance, the manufacturer catalogue data are listed in own columns and the 3D graphic is visible through a 3D variant modeller. All properties or dependencies can be optionally modified in the catalogue. The component data can be imported and exported via different formats (CSV, XLS etc.).

Advantages of Catalogue Data

All parties involved in the project may immediately use and implement the pipe classes, catalogue data etc. in their respective project. Of course, the access to embedded manufacturer catalogues according to defined pipe classes is possible from all modules. For instance: In the design phase the CADISON 3D planner has access either to the catalogue and pipe class data allocated to the project or provided the user is authorized to do so directly to the overall catalogue. In case specific special components not included in the catalogue are needed, the existing components may be adapted to the specific requirements. The necessary certificates and documents will be directly allocated to the special component through the PDM system integrated in CADISON.

Tracing of Modifications
While projects are under work, objects from catalogues are incorporated into the respective planning. A sophisticated role-based right system controls who is allowed to process and introduce the respective objects. In the practical application it might occur that the content of catalogues is changed during the duration of the project. To identify such modifications, CADISON MATPIPE provides integral functions for identification of such modifications. Thus catalogue and/or planning modifications can be recognized and eliminated, for instance prior to order placement.

Independent Report Generator

All pipe classes and catalogue descriptions prepared by means of CADISON MATPIPE can be issued by the integrated report generator in most different forms and formats. All reports can be revised and have release mechanisms. They are stored directly within the CADISON project. All documents can be presented even automatically as PDF.
