ORACLE DATA INTEGRATOR: CONNECTOR FOR SAP R/3

ORACLE DATA INTEGRATOR
ELT architecture delivers

Extracting information from your SAP R/3 platform to integrate it with the rest of the information system can be a real challenge. Data is stored in SAP in a denormalized way, and integrity is not managed at the database level, but through the application. Moreover, the data structure is complex and unusable, except by SAP experts. Oracle Data Integrator offers out-of-the-box integration between your information system and SAP R/3.

IDocs: The Document Approach Oracle Data Integrator can directly access SAP intermediate documents (IDocs) with no extra connectivity requirements. Oracle Data Integrator automatically reverse-engineers the IDocs structure, reads information from the documents, and even generates IDocs for SAP application systems. IDocs are exchanged between SAP and Oracle Data Integrator through SAP Application Link Enabling (ALE) or a file port (shared directory). SAP R/3 can then be used as a source or a target of any project, and integrated with any other element of the information system, with no extra connectivity required. JDBC: The Data Approach Oracle Data Integrator can directly access the SAP R/3 underlying database (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 UDB, or another database) using an industrystandard Java Database Connectivity (JBDC) interface. In this mode, Oracle Data Integrator reverse-engineers the SAP database model using the SAP dictionaries, making the SAP data models meaningful and directly usable. Models and submodels in the Oracle Data Integrator metadata repository are based on meaningful names for tables, columns, and constraints. In addition, the

features, including dependency graphs, crossreferencing, and impact analysis reports

Automatically implements

change data capture on the source systems

Accesses and integrates all

database systems, ERPs and CRMs, B2B systems, flat files, LDAP repositories, and XML data sources
Integrates into a service-

oriented architecture and provides automatically generated data services

Generates native code for

distributed database engines and coordinates their work

Executes the complete

integration process, from data transformation and transfer to error recovery and reporting

ORACLE DATA INTEGRATOR KEY BENEFITS

ELT architecture leverages

Oracle Data Integrator metadata repository carries over the documentation from the SAP dictionary for later use with interface development. The SAP R/3 data can be used directly as a source for any data integration project with no SAP client connectivity required. Fusion Middleware Adapters Oracle Data Integrator can also use the Oracle Integration Adapter for SAP, which provides bidirectional, standards-based, real-time connectivity to SAP R/3, mySAP Business Suite, and SAP Portals application systems. Simple and Easy Integration with SAP When integrating SAP with your information system using Oracle Data Integrator, you benefit from the high performance of its extract, load, transform (ELT) architecture and shortened implementation and maintenance times. Thanks to the products declarative design approach, you can minimize your implementation efforts and maximize the effectiveness of your SAP integration.
