Tim is a creative and technical web developer with 7 years’


experience in standards-based coding, web project
management, strategy and user-centred design.

Together with a full range of technical skills (listed below), I am

Web Strategist / Developer

Design and development of Futurelab’s websites, Intranet and


associated e-communications.

• XHTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery) coding of


Futurelab’s website , Intranet, blog and associated

Freelance and contracting
Freelance website consultancy for private clients, averaging
2-3 sites per year.

This involves building close working relationships with clients


for the duration of the project, from requirements
gathering/audience analysis to training them on the systems
at launch.

Web skills
Expert in front-end web languages (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript,
jQuery) and competent with back-end languages (such as PHP,
Ajax, XML, XSLT, Python). Also: CMS (notably WordPress and
ExpressionEngine), audio/video on the web using Flash,
copyediting for the web, SEO, podcasting, blog writing and
strategy, project management for the web (information
architecture, design briefs, requirements gathering, people
managing), web accessibility, usability.

IT skills
Other software and computing skills include: Windows XP,
Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, MS Office Suite, Sharepoint and
touch-typing at 45 wpm.

PASSIONS AND PURSUITS

Music
I play and teach jazz and classical piano.

Consort.

I manage and conduct my own choirs and deputise with a


number of others, leading them in rehearsals, services and
concert performances.

Sports, words and gadgets


Other hobbies include long-distance running (two half
marathons and two 10ks), new media, social psychology,
linguistics and communication, and modern literature.
