AirLife Airx Flow Incentive Spirometer

The AirLife brand Airx flow incentive spirometer is disposable and designed for exercising and measuring of volume flow. Preoperative and postoperative patients increase their lung volume by keeping the instruments inhalation-sensitive ball suspended with their inhalation. The flow passages vary in diameter, affecting the effort required to raise the ball. The ball stays suspended as long as the patient maintains this effort. The flow indicator dial can be adjusted to indicate flow rates in mL/second. Includes spirometer housing, detachable base plate, 12" segmented corrugated tubing with 22 mm OD and mouthpiece.

Our AirLife volumetric incentive spirometers simplify deep breathing therapy with an intuitive design that prompts patients to correctly perform and monitor their own breathing exercises, even without direct supervision. A patient goal indicator can be adjusted and allows patients to monitor their own progress. Dual-sided calibrations clearly identify achieved volumes of up to 4,000 mL capacity. The flexible tubing lets the patient adjust the mouthpiece for use in various positions, and a mouthpiece holder provides storage when not in use. Available with or without one-way valve.

(Philips Respironics) The Threshold inspiratory muscle trainer (IMT) and positive expiratory pressure (PEP) devices provide consistent and specific pressure, regardless of how quickly or slowly patients breathe. Threshold devices incorporate flow-independent one-way valves to ensure consistent resistance and feature adjustable specific pressure settings. The Pflex inspiratory muscle trainer is designed to provide a resistance that exercises respiratory muscles through conditioning in order to increase strength. Resistance is controlled by changing the devices dial selector, which provides six different levels of resistance.
