Coaching is teaching.

We have the responsibility to teach the game, sportsmanship, working as a team, character, loyalty, work ethic, trust and responsibility. We push for our kids to become fine citizens and scholars. We seek to develop boys into fine young men. Our aim is to develop winners on the field and in life.
Dragon Coachs Goals Championship attitude in the classroom, on the field, and in life!
To create a positive environment where athletes can have fun and feel good about playing football. Maintain or improve the citizenship, sportsmanship, and academic skills of each athlete. Teach the fundamentals and strategies of football. Do not praise aggression over good fundamentals. Mold athletes into a quality football team where the emphasis is on the team and not the individual. Assist athletes in improving their mental and physical athletic skills as they advance through the program. With discipline, hard work, and preparation win the Superbowl.

Teamwork "Teamwork is the essential building block of this program."

The team is the joining of individuals into one cohesive group. In teamwork, you do things that are good for the team and not necessarily for yourself. Teams help each other out through good times and bad. Teams have fun together. Teammates are loyal to each other.

Together Everyone Achieves More!

Building Blocks of Success "100% effort!!! Personal effort separates the average person from the champion more often than raw athletic talent."
Aggressive Defense The defense is a group of intense, aggressive, and swarming players who are constantly on the attack. They are taught to take away opponents strengths. They are disciplined in carrying out their assignments. The defense will swarm to the ball when it is on the ground and fly to it when in the air. Championships will be won because of how we play on defense! Discipline Teams need discipline to survive. Was I on time? Did I remember the play? Have I been making good decisions about my actions and my behavior? All of these questions have to do with discipline. You must rule your behavior and control your actions. Effort 100% effort!!! Personal effort separates the average person from the champion more often than raw athletic talent. Athletes and teams need to improve every day to be successful. Teams that improve daily usually end up battling for conference and league championships. Attitude A positive mental attitude is the key to success in any phase of life. The athlete believes in himself, his teammates, and coaches. He sets goals and strives to achieve them. He is a caring, thinking, and responsible person. Occasionally, he makes a mistake, but learns from it and goes on. He is self-motivated.

Off-Season Philosophy "We believe in multi-sport athletes! Why?"

Athletes stay in better condition. You learn to handle pressure in different types of situations. You experience different styles of coaching and meet new teammates. It keeps you active and in a structured environment. Athletes choosing not to participate in other sports should be involved in our off-season, agility program. Weight training, cardio-vascular training, individual camps, park and rec camps and clinics are all great ways to stay active.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe wholeheartedly in the traditional values of loyalty, hard work, discipline and respect. These values will form the core of our program. Each player will be treated with equality and respect. There will be no favorites and no political agendas followed. In turn, each player will be expected to show the utmost respect for coaches, officials, and fellow teammates. In order for any program to be successful each member must strive for the same goals. An athletic program has little chance to succeed unless the following are adhered to: Coaches should be educators. The job of coach is to teach football in a manner that is stimulating and challenging to the participant. As a head football coach, I will have a definite plan in which I believe in. Must have open lines of communication between coaches, parents, and the association. Develop a sense of pride and character. These things have won more battles than can be counted. To encourage sportsmanship at all times. To accept both victory and defeat with class and humility. The head coach must have a great supporting cast of dedicated assistant coaches, who must believe in the head coach and his plan. The coach must organize the program to operate at maximum efficiency.

I believe that Coaches must be trainers, not jockeys. Anyone can ride a good horse. We must be able to take the average horse and make him better. Believe in these kids and they will surprise you. Kids give you exactly what you expect of them, nothing more and nothing less. If you expect them to be a good player for you, then they will be. You have to roll up your sleeves, put in the time and coach them how you want them to play. We will be a physical, relentless football team. Our practice sessions will be tougher than our games in order for our young men to succeed. We will leave no stone unturned. As much as possible, we will prepare the athlete for every possible situation they might encounter in the course of a game. We believe that you play as you practice. If a team practices hard, it will play hard and conversely if it practices soft, it will play soft. If a young man does not hit or perform a fundamental or technique in practice, he will not do it in a game.
