Hi and thank you for your support of Maggies Rescue, Maggies Rescue likes to think we make a difference. We help the lives of dogs and cats who go forgotten and dont give up on the hard ones. We are 100% volunteer run, and we dont shy away from our animals when sick or injured. To be this dedicated, it costs money. And right now, we dont have a lot to go forward in our work. In the last year we have had some special animals. There was Cassius, who with ten minutes to spare was saved from Wagga Wagga Pound. He could not hold his own weight up, he was so sick with malnutrition. Cassius now lives a full life in a loving home in Sydney with Sarah and John. He is not like the same dog. Roo, from mid-north Queensland was so raw from demodectic mange we didnt know what colour her coat really was, then she fractured her leg in two places in a freak accident, at first recommended to amputate, we didnt want to as it would mean a very high hip removal for this dog, we pressed on and today Roo is living the dream on the Mornington Peninsula with full use of her four legs.
Cassius Our animals come from all over, and we recently were the first rescue to begin work as changemakers after six weeks in care with a pound in Central NSW, we are in there and we are working to make life better for the animals in this facility. Upholding our commitment to dogs in the lesser know regional pounds.

Our Sanctuary program is now underway with Paddy, a 14 year old poodle cross and Nelly the pony being our first intakes. Maggies doesnt just rescue and rehome, we are providing workshops for our carers and the community, we want to build on services for the elderly to assist in getting their pets to and from Vet appointments and we want to work on how to make our Street Cat epidemic in Australia recognised and addressed. Being a Charity that will never euthenase an animal if we can make his life better comes at a huge price. $10,000$14,000 a month adoptions alone do not go near covering this, we need to build a Maggies Family of Pledgers in order to continue to do our work. With the End of Financial Year approaching, it has never been a better time to make a tax deductible donation to Maggies Rescue. Please consider a monthy donation or a salary deduction without it, we cant keep going. We dont run a high cost shelter, our animals are cared for in homes by dedicated foster carers who treat these animals as their own while they wait for their homes. Our costs are solely for the rescue and rehome and vets costs associated with being a commited, passionate, for-life rescue.
