FROM THE DESK

Thankfully electoral process in Pakistan is over with Mian Nawaz Sharif as the new Prime minister of Pakistan. The 25 members cabinet has sworn in on last Friday and we are waiting to see who gets the portfolio for overseas Pakistanis. The care taker Prime Minister Mr. Khosa has approved a policy for overseas Pakistanis during his last week but details are neither known nor do we know of the consultations that have taken place with those who live overseas. An update from us is that we will be celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr and Pakistan Independence Day celebrations in August. While an event is planned for 17th August we will also have a small celebration on 14th August to coincide with the ceremony in Pakistan at the same time in UWA Guild Village Insha Allah. The tickets for 17th August will go on sale next Monday as we finalize the detail. Our next event to celebrate Eidul Azha will be on 20th October in collaboration with City of Vincent. Another milestone that we achieve was crossing 1000 mark on our facebook membership.
