Peoples behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making

People are the most complex creation of god with intriguing response or scientifically the so called stimulus to their environment. Hence as a contradiction to the popular saying man is a social animal, I believe that peoples behavior is influenced not only by the extrinsic factors but also by the intrinsic factors. Normally the extrinsic factors like place, time, reason, society, culture, religion etc are not under the control of an individual unlike the intrinsic factors like rationality, integrity, attitude, emotion, intellect etc well of course, if one can control these both then there never would be the need for world peace associations all over our planet. Peoples emotions play a very strong role in the growth and development of people around them and also on their ownselves. And they are driven to have different kind of emotions towards different people in their society. For instance even a newborn child tends to have a different kind of emotion towards his or her mother and father. When such is the complex structure of peoples emotions towards society, their behavior cannot be described only on the grounds of the society but also on the individuals emotion towards the society, be it a revolutionary politician or a preaching saint or a very normal layman. In general every individual has a very good reason for his or her own behavior and that reason is usually the blame thrown on others behavior, as convenient as it sounds. But when a same situation is thrusted upon two different individuals the odds of they both rationalizing their response to the situation in the same exact manner are very less. And usually the rationalization done stands as an impediment in the bridge which connects people to the religious acts forced upon them. People rationalize their situations and bring out perfect reasons for their behavior but those reasons are not always religiously acceptable. This fact is very clear from the very idea that India s prisons were filled with great social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy decades back. Attitude is a very commonly used term when it comes to ones behavior in any kind of a given situation. Basically parents raise their children teaching how should they behave where though the reasons are barely explained expecting implicit

obedience. But as we grow we create our own attitude and that is greatly influenced by the place we are in or the people surrounding us. When an individual converses with another person his or her attitude will be distinguishingly shown no matter how much he tries not to. If it wasnt for attitude the popular term called body language would never exist. An individual is forced to visit different kind of places and their attitude keeps changing at every point and when it is not shaped properly he or she usually ends up as a failure in the society. Every human being is raised to live with his or her own values and virtues. Ones integrity plays a very important role in how they want themselves to be in the given life of theirs. There are people who want to stick to their principles at any cost. And mostly it had brought the world greater good like how Gandhijis virtue of ahimsa brought us freedom. Compromising ones principles for their benefits is one kind of success while not compromising ones principles at all is another kind of success to different people. But at the end of the day the success is weighed based on the time or the situation in which the person compromises and not on what he compromises. The theory of relativity could be well compared with this idea. Atypical example of a students acceptance towards enjoying a party the da y before his life saving exam could throw some light on this. But well if the same is being done the day after he would be one step ahead. The best example for how culture influences ones life can be predicted from the life of any Indian. But in each persons life the extent to which the culture affects his growth can be perceived on the basis of his intellect. In every culture there has been and still are numerous superstitious beliefs which a person tends to follow if given a practice since childhood. A literates response towards child marriage will never be the same as the laymans, which stands out as the best example for the power of education. Though all these intrinsic and extrinsic factors do affect the judgment of ones social acceptance it can also be argued that it is based on serendipity, exactly how a lot of factors in a humans life is based on. A careful balance between these factors chains a man closer and closer to success and social acceptability and thus stands a strong support to the fact that people cant be judged only by the factors not under their control.
