The world is creation, motion and inspiration.

Artists have been gifted with the ability to understand appearances and see beyond them, to allow every single thing that surrounds them to invade and become their muse. Digital design and animation is the power to create a world as we would like it to be and to express our own feelings and emotions. For this reason I chose to further study the discipline at university. My main academic subject in high-school was social sciences and although some might think of it as not being related to art, I personally consider that we, as humans, fathered art as a consequence of our innate demand for beauty and evolution. My desire is to learn more about paying attention to people and their needs and to develop my imagination so as to fulfill their fantasies. What better place to do this if not in digital arts, where all artistic aspects such as animation, music, cinematography, sculpture, and design make their ends meet. After I graduated from high-school, two years ago, I was given the amazing opportunity of being part of a team which was actively involved in the painting of a byzantine church in my native country. This one year experience was extremely beneficial for me from many points of view. Firstly, I learnt about religious painting from a well-known church painter from Romania as his apprentice. Secondly, I practised both team-work, which helped me accumulate further knowledge on the subject from more experienced painters and developed my sense of self-critique, as well as independent work such as painting motifs, or gold leaf gilding icons. Another important aspect is that the work was to be done in acrylic on fresco, a very difficult job considering the fact that one has to paint exceedingly fast, before the fresco dries out, therefore I learnt to speed up my painting. When I finished working at the church, I got involved in two other artistic projects. The first was glass-painting the windows of two mountain cabins. The novelty stood partly in the technique, but mostly in the environmental change that it brought about, the way in which those rooms came to life and the emotional state transmitted through the colours and tones used. During my second project, I painted the walls of a kindergarten. This time, the surroundings were evidently less conventional compared to those in the church and I felt more at ease. I got to work with both the child and the adult in me. On one hand, all those smiling fruits, vegetables, animals and so forth, were reflections of my own nature and on the other, it was partly my job to choose carefully the size and placement of drawings on the wall, so that the harmony would still be kept. Overall, these experiences gave me not only spiritual and artistic satisfaction, but also the possibility of earning money in order to maintain myself financially. Currently, I am exploring Autodesk Maya, Macromedia Flash & Fireworks and Art Rage, at a beginners level. Also, I developed a particular interest in moulding and jewelry manufacturing as hobbies in my spare time. I enjoy working with different media, drawing studies of the human body, geometric shapes, flowers, playing with light and shadings, or doing various sketches and painting boards in charcoal, pencil, acrylic or egg tempera. I see myself as a hard-working, organised, self-disciplined and determined person and I truly believe that my experiences so far have trained and qualified me for the most important period and pillar of my life and career - namely university studies.
