THE RAINY SEASON IS HERE!

The Trinidad and Tobago Rainy Season is typically said to be from June to December each year. But did you know that the Rainy Season is not defined by a particular date? The season actually begins when the first rain-producing Tropical Wave arrives in the region. This year, the wave arrived on Sunday, May 19 signifying an early start to the rainy season this year. The Tropical Atlantic Hurricane Season begins on June 1st and is forecast to be a very active one with the formation of 18 named Storms, 9 Hurricanes and 4 Major Hurricanes (Categories 3 and above). These factors call for a prepared public and the ODPM along with its stakeholders, will surely do its part during this time. The public is urged to take heed of early warnings, pay close attention to forecasts, updates and bulletins.
