    BRIGGS & STRATTON GENERATORS

    In 2008, Briggs & Stratton donated eight new portable generators to UHH for use in Nicaragua. Because of still too frequent power outages, the availability of this resource remains critical in respect to the Health Care Center. Currently two generators serve as back-up for the ER, Operating Room, and the inpatient section of the hospital. The other generators serve several outlying communities which have no electrical power source. There is one generator which serves as a back-up at Casa Schlaefer. In addition, Briggs & Stratton donated two new power washers which now contribute to the cleanliness of the Health Care Center.
