The optimum coolant temperature for maruti 800 engine is around 92 degrees.

Multiple sources give the heat-carrying capacity of the coolant to be: [5, 6] RW = QW W CW TW / 60 where RW = heat transport rate, kW QW = coolant flow rate, L/min W = coolant density = 1.0 kg/L CW = specific heat of coolant, kJ/kg .C TW = temperature difference Thus if coolant absorbs a heat of approximately 35 KW (maximum required) the rise in temperature will be 12 degrees. Air flow velocity required in the following situations: High Air intake temperature: The above situation arises as the radiator is placed close to the engine and there is possibility of intake air to the radiator being heated by the engine heat. Also the vehicle is considered in state of motion.
Air inlet tempreature 55 cooant inlet tempreature 92 coolant outlet tempreature Air velocity 80.69154188 30 coolant flow rate Heat transfer 0.921405596 35267.64716

In idle condition the amount of heat produced by the engine is lower and thus the required air flow rate also reduces. The fan in this case produces air velocity of approximately 17m/s and operates only when the coolant inlet temperature rises above 98 degrees and stops when the coolant temperature reduces below 92 degrees. Thus in idling condition

Air inlet tempreature 40

cooant inlet tempreature 92

coolant outlet tempreature Air velocity 80.76235268 16

coolant flow rate Heat transfer 0.921405596 35046.80978

Considering the situation when the fan does not operate and the vehicle is in stationary condition:
Air inlet tempreature 40 cooant inlet tempreature 88 coolant outlet tempreature Air velocity 83.52299572 6 coolant flow rate Heat transfer 0.921405596 13962.41693

As seen earlier the temperature rise in coolant is about 12 degrees as it passes through the engine thus in the above scenario the coolant temperature rises to 95 degrees which is near about the optimal temperature and helps rapid heating of the engine to the optimal temperature. The following graphs show variation of heat transfers with respect to various parameters such as air intake temperature and air velocity with coolant intake temperature and coolant flow rate remaining constant.

Variation of heat transfer with air temperature with air velocity of 17m/s

Variation of heat transfer with air velocity for 40 degrees air intake temperature Conclusions: The required heat transfer is about 35KW in order achieve this the maximum air intake temperature in stationary condition is theoretically around 45 degrees As the vehicle speed and consequently the air velocity increases the maximum allowable air intake temperature also increases however the minimum required air velocity to handle a air temperature of around 40 degrees is approximately 16 m/s. As coolant intake temperature rises the heat transfer also increases due to larger temperature difference all other parameters being constant. Heat transfer may be considered independent of the coolant flow rate since as the coolant flow rate increases faster it circulates thus improving the heat transfer on the radiator side and thus compensating for the lesser time for heat transfer on the engine side.
