Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time


Living Faith in June: Luke 7:11-17 I will praise you Lord, for you have rescued me. (Psalm 30:1) Consider a time when you felt that life was hopeless. Who did you turn to? Jesus says, Do not weep. Recall a time in your life when you may have felt the presence of Jesus or heard these words from a friend. What did that comforting feel like? 320 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. Open hours that are in need of adorers are; Sunday noon - 1pm, 5-6 pm, Wednesday 11am noon, Friday 11 am noon, and Friday 1-2 am and Saturday 8-9pm. In addition, there are many hours that only have one adorer. Please call Judy Soltis at 330-212-0926 if you are able to help. Because of the generosity of many St. Augustine Parishioners, St. Vincent de Paul has received a very generous gift. We want to share our good fortune with those who are in need. Come and see what the Elizabeth Ministry is all about and enjoy each others company. We will meet on Sunday, June 30 in the school cafeteria at 4:00pm. The Divorced, Separated and Widowed Catholics of Akron is sponsoring a talk by Mitch McCallister, Senior Financial Advisor at Chase Bank. His topic will be on retirement planning. It will be held on Monday, June 10, 7:30pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent Building, 1945 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. This event is open at no cost to single people of all faiths. Because of the wonderful response to our need for furniture for the Ozanam Center (for which we are very grateful), we could really use a couple more volunteers with trucks who would be willing to pick up furniture. Hopefully we can get enough people that we would need to use each individual only twice a month. We would also be willing to discuss paying someone for the occasional pickup, mostly those that are in the outside area of our volunteers. If you are willing to volunteer or would like to discuss being paid, please call Cathie or Jim Perusek at 330-467-5762. Thank you in advance for all you do.
