12138 Central Avenue Suite 678 Bowie, Maryland 20721

June 7, 2013 Dear Prospective Board Member: On July 20, 2013, new Board members will be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Pan African Collective, Inc. (PAC). You have been recommended to our Executive Committee as a possible candidate for board service. We are requesting you to give serious consideration to your nomination for this board position. To that end, you are invited to a reception for potential PAC Board members on

Building

Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:00 PM. The reception will be held at Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church at 1001 Old Mitchellville Road, Bowie, Maryland 20716. During the reception board responsibilities will be reviewed in more detail and you will receive additional
information about the PAC. The PAC, established six years ago, fosters relationships between the African-American faith community and the African and Pan African Diplomatic Corps. Its mission is to build bridges of

understanding and forge diverse partnerships to promote development in Africa and the African Diaspora.
The next several years promise to be exciting ones for the PAC. The Board of Directors will play a central role in this important work. Because of your faith, experiences, and involvement in our community, we feel you are well qualified to be nominated for a board position. As you consider this opportunity, we ask you review the board director position description included in this mailing. As you will see, we are expecting the board to be an active one. A primary responsibility of board directors is to participate in the development of policy and major decision-making at board meetings held at least four times a year. PAC, Inc. has become recognized as a facilitator of collaborations, a reliable source of information, an ardent advocate for Africa and the Pan African Diaspora, and a coordinator for missions projects. We invite you to become a part of this needed and mandated tradition. A member of our Executive Committee has been asked to contact you by phone to discuss this invitation with you. You may have already received this call. In the meantime, if you wish to be considered as a candidate for the Board of Directors, please attend the reception on June 7th and the swearing in and orientation on July 20th. If you have any questions, please contact either Octavia S. Caldwell, Board Vice-President at 240-688-2191 or Maggie Holmes, Board Development Committee Chair at 301-221-3937 Sincerely,

Jonathan Weaver, President PAC, Inc. Board of Directors
