Team working

Are you performing "work in groups"? Or experiencing "teamwork"?

ORGANISATION IS A CONSTELLATION OF GROUPS

VERTICAL GROUPS, INTERDEPENDANT GROUPS HORIZONTAL GROUPS, DIAGONAL GROUPS

Teams are responsible and accountable for defined actions, and have shared or independent decision making responsibility.

The team replaces the factors that promote division, fear, competition, and conflict with factors that promote unity, risk-taking, co-operation, co-ordination, communications, and collaboration.

Group comes to the project with a personal bag full of skills, talents, resources and ideas.

Members individually use their own skills and contribute what they can.

They are productive but limited by the contents of their own bags.

Members open up bags for use by the entire group. The team operates as a cohesive unit that uses all the best individual assets of its members.

There's cooperation and sharing that recognises the group is worth more than the sum of its individual parts.

To experience teamwork, all members must fully open their bags

If there is something you need from my bag, you can use it. It's at your disposal! And I can find a particular tool or resource I need in your bag. We both know if we keep our bags to ourselves, we simply have one.

But by sharing and trusting we have two. Not to mention the magic of synergy that happens when we work together.

Team's greatest asset is the collection of individuals' skills and talents
