IDT ANNUAL FASHION SHOW-FASHIONOVA 2013

For the first time IDT institute Surat of Design and Technology presented the breath taking ultra stylish dazzling event FASHIONOVA on 9 June, 2013. Our venue partner for this Fashion show was The Gateway Hotel. A fashion Show (a collection of completing 1 yr and 2 yr Diploma batch of IDT students of Fashion Designing) Fashionova2013 was held on 9 June, 2013 at The Gateway hotel. The show Fashionova 2013 proved to be a launchpad for the upcoming promising talents in the field of Fashion Industry. The students had designed their collections under the guidance of Faculties in 3 months duration for summer on various themes and for varying occasions. Over 135 students presented a total of 150 collection ranging from casuals to formals with a true experimentation of hues, textures, silhouettes and details in front of eminent personalities from Industry, Jury Members, Renowned designers and others. From sketching ideas on paper to draping fabric on a dress form, the IDT students transformed everyday ordinary into everyday extraordinary ready-to-wear garments with a plethora of themes, viz., Roses, Ikat Prints, Magical Sensation, Mughal-e-azam, Digi Magic and others. Idtians have made an effort to design clothes; to give designing an image beyond the world of fantasy. And all the themes were justifiably explored to the core by our young designers in the most innovative and mind boggling ways and are within the range of feasibility. IDT Fashionova2013 had Mr. Manoj Kumar Das (IAS, SMC Commissioner, Surat), Mr. C.R. Patil (MLA, Navsari) & Ms. Sangeeta Patil (BJP) as chief guests and Mr. Naresh Chopra

(Director & Owner of Mahotsav Sarees) and Ajoy BHattcharya as a Guest of honor and other Dignataries witnessed our spectacular event and graced the occasion with their presence. The evening turned out to be glamour pack affair with an eclectic mix of, Models and fashion designers from the industry. Leading and professional models Sana Sayyed (who performed as a child artist as Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai & supporting actor in Student of the year) was the Showstopper of our event & Jimmy Nanda (who won the title of Gladrags Mrs. India & 1st runners up in the Mrs. Universe Pageant) and many more walked down the ramp in colorful and fascinating costumes designed by budding designers of the institute. At the end of runway event Ace Designers James Ferriera & Sangeeta Choksi, Eminent juries from fashion field were honored to choose the best talent and crown them with best awards. The main highlights of the event were the Digi Prints & Magical Sensation to beat the summer heat innovatively. For the 1sttime, Students presented combination of Bollywood & Hollywood culture, where bright & soft colors were given utmost importance in the theme. The fascinating collection of short & sexy dresses is designed with sequined, velvet, tissue, satin, net, Lycra. And if we talk about Mughal-e-Azam, Fashion was seen with cultural values of India left the audience spellbound by its innovative collection of anarkali & a-line frock designs. Fashion is all about sensuality which can be seen in the outfits created by IDT students. The Fashion show mesmerized the entire audience by its thrilling, innovative and artistic creations which will be remembered for its great beauty and charming look. We Idtians thank all the people and specially choreographer Keyur Desai for making our Fashionova 2013 event a big success and creating history in Surat.
