A New Season!

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:l

June 2013

Dear Friends and Supporters, Solomon, in his God-given wisdom, put it so well, there is a time and a season for everything this side of heaven. First of all, it is high time that I communicated to you about the past several months. And I should let you know what I am anticipating, in this season, as a result of God's special promise to me, in Proverbs 3: 5,6. I left Honduras in January and returned to Madison, Wisconsin where I have been living in my condo, engaging in many activities, meeting people, and all the time searching what the Lord would have me do in this season of life. I have been able to spend as much time as I possible with my children in the USA (Bobby and Rebecca), my sisters and their husbands, and extended family from whom I have been separated so much of my life. Though I had forgotten how long and hard the winters in Wisconsin can be, I managed pretty well, but the Spring has been very welcome. I must be honest. So far, I just can't seem to get settled, but I keep seeking God about what my next step should be. I am 86 years old and many things are more difficult, particularly without Bob. But I can't help thinking that I still have something left to give. So, in the late fall or early winter I plan to return to Loma de Luz, Honduras for another 3 months. I think I might be useful in reading to the children at the Children's Home, helping them with their homework, helping with English lessons or assisting at the El Camino School. I am so grateful to you who have faithfully supported me as a missionary this second time around. You supported Bob and me as we confidently went to Honduras when we were both about 80 years old. Plans for service in Honduras changed when Bob took sick and remained in a coma for 4 years. Your spiritual and material support was appreciated over those long years with trips back and forth to the States every 3 months. Just saying, "thanks", seems inadequate. But I do thank you and the Lord who sent you to help so generously. In this new season I am only able to serve part time. I know that many of you may not see that as worthy of financial support as a missionary. I would agree with you. After this month, I will no longer be a missionary with CornerStone International. Partly as a suggestion and partly as a request, I ask you to prayerfully consider transferring your support to Cornerstone Foundation that receives donations for the operation of Loma de Luz Hospital and its ministries. They give year-end receipts to donors. Send donations to: Cornerstone Foundation, PO Box 18384, Saucier, MS, 39574. If you would like to continue to help this octogenarian, you could write on the check that it is for "Zina's travel". The Cornerstone Foundation will keep track of this and help me with Honduras travel expenses from that fund. If any amount beyond travel expenses accumulated, it would go directly to the work of the hospital, the Foster Children's Home and the Bilingual School at Loma de Luz. I do so appreciate each of you and I would surely appreciate your prayers. This season of life is not for the faint of heart. But God knows how many seasons He has for each of us under heaven and His grace is sufficient in each one. I continue seeking His perfect will and find direction in one of my favorite passages, Romans 12: 9-13. May He bless you and keep you close to Him.
