Team Ground Rules and Guidelines What are the general expectations for all members of the team? Complete assigned tasks on time. Evenly split up assignments so that all team members have an opportunity to participate equally. The team should choose a leader. Each member should choose their respective assignment tasks and understand their role in the project. The team should determine whether or not weekly meetings are necessary, and how this should be accomplished. Each member should use Riverpoint Writer, WritePoint, and the Plagiarism Checker PRIOR to posting their written portion of the project, Each member should be responsible for checking the team forum on a regular basis. Expectations for Time Management and Involvement (Participation, communication with the team, accessibility, etc.) Communicate availability so other team members know when we are accessible. Stick to committed due dates. In the event that commitments can not be met by assigned dates then communicate to your teammates so that the tasks can be reassigned or expectations reset. Each member will demonstrate a respectful demeanor toward other team members. Each member will inform the team of any event he or she has planned that will prevent this member from participating as required BEFOREHAND. Please do not wait until you return. The team needs to determine adequate timeframes for completing the weekly team assignments. Each member should participate as equally as possible. Members that do not have strong communication skills, have difficulty speaking up in a group, or are uncomfortable providing their ideas or input should contact the team leader and convey pertinent information through another venue.

Ensuring Fair and Even Contribution and Collaboration We will use the University of Phoenix web site to post all assignments. If a team member is not contributing, ever effort will be made by the team leader to contact the individual via email and/or phone to determine when assignment can be delivered. In the event that this person cannot be contacted or is not returning email/voicemail then the tasks will need to be reassigned to the remaining team members to complete. Team members who do not participate will not be included in the submission of the assignment and thus not be given credit. In the event of a conflict between two or more team members, the team leader (or a member not involved in the dispute) should gather relevant information from each person. The team leader should attempt to resolve the issue such that no member remains offended and the disagreement is resolved. Notes regarding the discord should be taken to document the situation and process that occurred to resolve it. Once every avenue stipulated in the charter has been exhausted, if the dispute has not been settled satisfactorily, the instructor should be contacted. The person making this contact should provide the documented details to the instructor for analysis and to aid in restoring good relations among the members.

Special Considerations When things get difficult or frustrating, we all try to make compromises for the greater good. Keep in mind that our performance does not only affect our grade, but the grade of the entire group. Always be willing to answer questions and ask them as well.
