It has been a wonderful beginning to the summer of 2013. Our Childrens Ministry took 48 pre-teens to camp where five students made the life changing decision to give their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord! On top of this record breaking pre-teen camp, we are set for Vacation Bible Extreme! If you have not signed up your children, grandchildren, or friends children there is some time left. Remember, we only have 300 spots available and 240 of those spots are already taken. We commissioned our Kenya mission team on June 9th. This team is led by our fearless leaders Mojo Cornelius and Erika OConnor. Every time people from our church go on mission they bring back to all of us new life, new ideas and a new zeal for the Gospel of Christ. Our youth are at Super Summer Leadership Camp this week at Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton and have a big mission trip coming up in July to Honduras. Please be in prayer for our youth minister Ryan and Cara Taylor as they continue to heal from the loss of their baby, Audrey. I want you to also be in prayer for Jake Koziel and his wife, Stacey, as he takes the reins of our Youth Ministry for a few weeks while Ryan takes some time off. Jake will be leading a fantastic team of youth leaders to make sure our youth are growing their relationship with Christ. Perhaps you have not had the chance to get to know Jake. If not, here is a little bit of his bio. Jake and his wife Stacey have four awesome daughters: Kaley is 14 and entering 10th grade, Hanna is 11 and entering 7th grade, Emma is 8 and entering 3rd grade, and Lilly is 4 and in Pre-K. The Koziel family are truly a sweet part of our church family. I asked Jake how he was feeling about everything and he said that the task was not too overwhelming because of the wonderful youth leaders: Debbie Guillen, Maurina Debo, Deanna Nail, Matt Cochran, Scott Nail, Brett Carter, Kelly Kirkpatrick and Bubba Stallcup. Please be in prayer for this team as they lead our youth every Sunday and Wednesday for the next few weeks. Last, it is time to start getting excited about our relocation. We are hoping to break ground this fall in a huge celebration that coincides with our 125 year anniversary. Even though we have scaled back some on the building we are thankful that it will exceed our ministry needs in every way. We believe we have the exact building that God has had in mind for us all along. Our staff will show this building to you after the worship service on June 30 at 12:00. This Town Hall Meeting will be exciting as we look at the building and pray together about our future. We will feed the children in the childrens building while we meet in the sanctuary. Together, we are making a difference, together we are First Baptist Church, and together we are a community following Christ. Join us on the adventure. Love, Ross
