To Crown the Waves eschews typical stereotypes by examining each navys unique goals and circumstances and shows how their individual characteristics had an impact on the way they fought. The book is unique in that it pools the expertise of specialists from six nations who are fluent in the language spoken in that navy. The authors deliver a side-by-side analysis of the conflicts fleets, with each chapter covering a single navy.
