REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate Bachelors degree/National diploma coupled with extensive relevant senior management experience PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge: Institute for Internal Auditors (IIA) standards International Standards on Auditing (ISA) Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) Accounting Standards and the Committee of Sponsoring Organisations (COSO) Treasury Regulations Public Sector laws and policies Understanding of DMR policies, functions, projects, etc. National economic and development strategy Government policies and projects/programmes in DMR. Skills: Financial management Facilitation and implementation Conict resolution Negotiation and consultation Policy development Strategic capability and leadership Change Management. Communication: Good communication Ability to communicate at all levels. Creativity: Logical, objective, accurate and diplomatic Use Initiative A creative thinker. DUTIES: Manage the provision of an independent, systematic examination and evaluation of the Departmental Internal Control Framework Manage performance audits and special assignments Oversee the compilation of audit reports and ensure implementation of recommendations contained in reports Attend to the Director-General and Ministerial ad-hoc requests Liaise with all relevant institutions, individuals, etc. as well as ensure all queries are settled on time Provide direction regarding the execution of audits and ad-hoc assignments Oversee the development of an internal audit coverage plan and work measurement schedules as well as report on the progress thereof Manage the Chief Directorate. REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate Bachelors degree/National diploma coupled with extensive experience at senior management level PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge: Internal and external liaison Knowledge management Publication, advertising and branding Understanding of DMR policies Government policies and projects/programmes of DMR National economic and development strategies. Skills: Management and organisational Computer literacy Creativity and innovation Organising and co-ordination Facilitation and implementation Negotiation and consultation Problem solving and analysis Strategic capability and leadership Change management Policy development and implementation Editing and translating. Communication: Ability to communicate at all levels Excellent verbal and written (including speechwriting) communication at all levels. DUTIES: Provide strategic leadership in the development, maintenance and implementation of communication and knowledge management as well as information service strategies and interventions Write and edit speeches Manage the development, maintenance and implementation of communication and knowledge management policies Integrate the Departments communication strategic plan with Governmental communication strategy in line with Governmental communication Serve as the Departmental Spokesperson Provide strategic leadership on the functions of the Chief Directorate Manage the Chief Directorate. REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate Bachelors degree/National diploma coupled with extensive relevant senior management experience in nance and supply chain management PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge: The Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act 1 of 1999) (PFMA)The Division of Revenue Act, 2012 (Act 5 of 2012) (DORA) Accounting Standards, e.g. Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) Treasury Regulations Change management with knowledge of the Public Service and Departmental organisational matters Programme management with a service delivery orientation and effective budget management Budget processes. Skills: Good communication at all levels (verbal and written) Excellent numerical skills Strong leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills Strong organisational skills Client focus Negotiation and consultation Problem solving and analysis Strategic capability. DUTIES: Manage the functions of the Chief Directorate: Finance and Supply Chain Management Provide strategic direction and guidance with respect to assurance services and Governance Support the CFO and other Senior Managers in the execution of their functions in terms of the PFMA and Treasury Regulations Liaise with relevant role-players in the nancial environment, regarding transversal nancial matters Ensure effective and efcient nancial management/administration by collaborating in the development of training programmes or by providing direct training in nancial matters to Ofcials of the Department Manage fraud and losses Manage the Chief Directorate. DEPUTY CHIEF INSPECTOR OF MINES (2 POSTS)


Salary: R872 214 per annum (all inclusive package Level 14) Centre: Head Ofce (Pretoria) Ref.: DMR/13/0036
REQUIREMENTS: A National diploma/degree in Mining/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualication and a Mine Managers Certicate of Competency (MMC)/Government Certicate of Competency (GCC) coupled with extensive senior manager experience PLUS the following key competencies: Knowledge: Mine Health and Safety Regulations Health risk assessment techniques Mining environment (big and small, surface and underground as well as research and research methodology techniques) Relevant Public Service Regulations Regional and sector challenges Guidelines issued by the Chief Inspector of Mines Demonstrable management and leadership knowledge and application Advanced project management. Skills: Management of people and nance Report writing Inspecting Project and programme management Interpersonal skills Strategic leadership. Communication: Ability to communicate at operational and strategic levels. Creativity: Innovative thinking and approaching. DUTIES: Manage regions Serve as a nodal point for regions Promote mine health and safety Oversee regional operations Lead high level interventions (inspections, investigations, etc.) Manage mine health and safety risks (track and identify trends) as well as ensure pro-active interventions are in place.
