OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT: This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq. Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on June 22 and June 23, 2013. If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement at this time. The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77 and Fios Channel 46. RESOLUTION NO. GP-0006-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A SIDEBAR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE HOBOKEN BOARD OF EDUCATION AND THE HOBOKEN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION WITH REGARD TO THE POSITION OF ATHLETIC TRAINER

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, approves a Sidebar Agreement between The Hoboken Board of Education and The Hoboken Education Association concerning the Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer will work from August 15, 2013 through June 15, 2014. As a certified staff member the Athletic Trainer is entitled to representation by the Association and has been placed on the appropriate step of the salary guide set forth in the Agreement. He must work a minimum of 1,248.75 hours during the time period. If the Athletic Trainer exceeds 1,248.75 hours, he shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of $34.00 per hour.

RESOLUTION NO. FI-0012-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF FOOD SERVICES MANAGEMENT COMPANY CONTRACT RENEWAL

RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education hereby renews the school food service contract with Sodexo Management, Inc., Weatogue, Connecticut for the 2013-2014 school year; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fees for the said contract include a flat management fee of $12,761.11 per month based on conditions and assumptions stipulated in the proposed contract on file in office of the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary remaining in effect; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Sodexo Management, Inc. guarantees a breakeven bottom line of the operational financial report for the 2013-2014 school year, with no subsidy to the bottom line by the LEA. In the event that the costs of operating the Food Service Program exceed total revenues (from all sources), Sodexo Management, Inc. will be responsible for any losses (shortfalls) incurred but in no event shall the reimbursement obligation exceed the amount of Sodexo Management, Inc.s Management Fee, ($127,611.10) with said guaranteed breakeven based on the conditions and assumptions remaining in effect for the school year in accordance with the proposed contract on file in office of the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. The fees shall consist of general support services and management fee. General Support Services Allowance General Support Services Allowance equal to Seventy Thousand Six Hundred Forty-Two and 14/100 Dollars ($70,642.14) for the 2013-2014 contract year, payable in ten equal installments of Seven Thousand Sixty-Four and 21/100 Dollars ($7,064.21), September through June, computed at the end of each Accounting Period and prorated for any partial Accounting Period. Partial Accounting Period shall be defined as a period of time less than one (1) month. RESOLUTION NO. FI-0013-12-13 SUBJECT: CONTINUATION OF EMERGENCY CONTRACT AT BRANDT SCHOOL

RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by the Interim Business Administrator due to structural issues with the facade of the Brandt School effecting the health and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the continuation of an emergency contract with T&M Contracting Company Inc. of Hoboken, New Jersey in an additional estimated of $14,850, pending SDA project approval, from July 2013 through September 2013, to include the continued emergency installation of the protective sidewalk bridge (erecting, dismantling, lights, rental of materials) and the determination of the extent of the problem in concert with the architect to determine the specifications for repair (includes the cost of the equipment to complete the site analysis); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Board Secretary be authorized to submit the declaration of this continued emergency to the Executive County Superintendent.
