Smart Schools Program WebSm@rt Pre-Training Guidelines Training Overview In line with its thrust to further promote online

content generation and development, the Smart Schools Program (SSP), through its lead implementing partner, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), will be sponsoring a four-day workshop entitled Websm@rt Training. The workshop, which will be divided into two tracks, aims to: enrich participants skills on local content generation and campus journalism and online publishing (Content Track) develop participants skills on website design, publishing, and maintenance (Web Track) To make the training worthwhile and get the most out of it, the following are reminders for everyone: Training Schedule May 25-28, 2012; 8:00am-5:00pm Accommodations Corporate Inn Manila, 1005 Ma. Orosa St., cor. T.M. Kalaw, Ermita, Manila o Check-in : May 24, 2012, Thursday (starting 2:00 pm) Advance check-in will be charged to personal account. o Check-out : May 29, 2012, Tuesday (until 12 noon) *All participants are expected to check-in on May 24, 2012 (Thursday) for a dinner and orientation at Corporate Inn Hotel, Rooftop at 5:30 PM. o o Hotel Breakfast schedule - Starts on May 25-29, 2012 from 6:00 AM until 7:30 AM Hotel Dinner schedule - Starts on May 24-28, 2012 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM

Bus Transfers from Hotel to Letran o Bus Schedule of pick-up from hotel- 7:30 AM in 2 batches. Pick-up from Colegio San Juan De Letran -5:30 PM in 2 batches. Note: If participants were not able to avail of the bus ride, transportation fares going to Letran & Corporate Inn are at the account of participant/s. Plane tickets for VisMin participants o We will be sending thru email your e-tickets prior to flying-in Manila. Attire o Smart casual. Letran prohibits entry wearing sando, sleeveless, see-through blouses, short skirts (above the knee), and slippers. Expenses Expenses that will be shouldered by SMART are: o Training Fees, including kits, manuals and certificates o Hotel accommodations from May 25-28, 2012 o Meals: Breakfast: May 25 to 29, 2012 Dinner: May 24 to 28, 2012 Buffet Lunch & PM Snacks: May 25 to 29, 2012 o Transportation:

Roundtrip transportation from school origin to Hotel will be reimbursed. Please keep plane boarding pass, terminal fee tickets, bus and/or boat tickets. These are to be attached to liquidation of expenses. No tickets, no reimbursement. We will not accept R.E.R / A.Rs. Only schools with 6 hours travel will be entitled for maximum of two (2) pre & post meal reimbursement. Reimbursement of meal is based on the actual expenses but not to exceed to the following budget: Breakfast: P150 Lunch: 150 Dinner: 150 and should be supported by an Official Receipts. Please address all ORs to PBSP FAO SMART. PBSP follows the No Official Receipt, No Reimbursement Policy.

Upon arrival in Manila, only 1 person per school will charge taxi fares. Maximum taxi fare from Pasay/Makati/Cubao Terminal areas going to the hotel ranges from P200-300. Please be wary of taxi drivers na mangongontrata.

Reimbursements made outside of the expenses mentioned above will not be honored. Please have the following documents/data in digital format (i.e. saved in CD or flash drive) for easy editing and uploading into the school website. FOR WEB TRACK PARTICIPANTS 1. To be done prior to training: Active Facebook Page for the School (create one if there is no existing account. If already have account, make sure you have access to the page) 2. Soft copy of high-resolution logo of school 3. Digital School Photos i. School Administrators, Teachers, Non-Teaching Personnel, etc ii. School Facilities, Campus iii. Student Activities, Class Pictures, etc iv. Other photos/images (e.g. students graphic artworks) FOR CONTENT TRACK PARTICIPANTS 1. School Website Content for the following website sections: a. Soft-copy of high resolution logo of school publication b. Keynote/Welcome message from the Principal c. About Us i. History of school ii. Mission/Vision iii. School Facilities iv. Teacher and Student Population v. Other information about the school (e.g. projects, accreditations, etc.) d. Admission Requirements e. Campus News (at least 5)

f. School brochure (source of info for content g. Contact Us (school contact details) i. School address ii. School contact numbers iii. School email address meet with your school heads, school webmasters, and Web Track Participants to decide on the contents and layout of your website you may add or change sections, according to your schools needs gather information (articles, photos) for your school website each section must have a content

Expected Output At the end of the training/workshop, participants are expected to deliver the following: FOR WEB TRACK PARTICIPANTS 1. School Website - organized sitemap and web page layout - all sections and pages have content - all links/hyperlinks are working - website is uploaded in the given FTP site FOR CONTENT TRACK PARTICIPANTS 1. Additional content for School Website - additional news/feature stories for the school paper and website 2. Online Campus Journalism Web Blogs thru Journ.ph After the workshop, the Smart Schools Program will provide your school principal/OIC a post-training report so he/she will be able to evaluate and monitor the progress and outputs of the participants.

Friendly Reminders 4. Complete attendance 1. Be on time. Lets be mindful of our schedules so we can start and finish the sessions on time. 2. Listen attentively and participate actively. Make the most of this training by giving your undivided attention to the speakers co-participants, and by joining the activities. 5. and No house rule violation 3. Take care of your belongings (Laptops, mobile phones, camera, wallets etc.) and of the facilities provided for you. PBSP / SMART shall not be liable for any loss of your personal belongings. 6.
