3. Introduction
The area of research will comprise the Sedimentlogical study and facies analysis to develop a depositional model in sequence stratigraphic framework of Kussuk formation of South-Eastern Potwar & Eastern Salt Range. Kussuk formation is acting reservoir in different oilfields of Potwar sub basin. The study will be carried out with the integration of outcrop and well log data. As detailed sampling, field, lab work and facies analysis by using sedimentologic & electric logs of the surrounding wells will be conducted therefore it will increase the present understanding and knowledge about distribution and depositional environment of Kussuk formation. 4. Review of Literature The papers in journals and the material published by Geological survey of Pakistan were reviewed to understand the nature of work previously done. Also the relevant studies published abroad were also reviewed to gain help regarding the scope of study. The material studied is given in references.

Justification and Likely Benefits The work is unique in the sense that the planned detailed work has not been done so far to understand fully the depositional history of Kussuk Formation in the Sequence stratigraphic framework. This study may help to resolve the queries regarding the depositional style, reservoir facies distribution of Kussuk Formation in Potwar sub basin. 6. Plan of Work and Methodology The plan of work for this study will be as follows: Sampling & Section measurement in the field .Detailed lithologic logs and rock description of strata in the field Separate samples preparation for Sedimentological study Thin section preparation. Petrography Facies (Litho & Palyno) & architectural elemental analysis on the basis of outcrop data Electrofacies analysis by using wireline logs Outcrop to Well Log facies correlations Preparation of Detailed deposition model in sequence stratigraphic framework
