Position Description

1) Job Purpose To plan, implement and monitor various activities in PMS, Training, OE and Campus Recruitment at the Business level and provide required support to Unit HR for effective and timely implementation thereof.

3) Job Context & Major Challenges (What are the specific aspects of the job that provide a challenge to the job holder in the context of the Unit/Zone? Essel Mining & Industries Limited (EMIL), a closely-held entity of the Aditya Birla Group (ABG), is one of the largest non-captive producers of iron-ore in India and is operating its group of mines located in the iron-ore belt of Barbil-Barajamda sector of Orissa in eastern India. EMILs iron-ore production was around 8 MTPA for the year 2009-10 and there are aggressive growth plans in place to take it to 15 MTPA of iron-ore by FY 2015. As a part of ABGs vision for the year 2015, EMIL is aggressively looking at various growth opportunities in the mining industry in order to leverage its rich experience. EMIL is also exploring opportunities in Iron Ore, Coal, Bauxite, Potash, Manganese and various other value added projects on both domestic and global map.

Owing to the increase in size and its aggressive growth plans it becomes necessary to segregate various HR functions in order for them to receive the desired focus.

3) Job Context & Major Challenges (What are the specific aspects of the job that provide a challenge to the job holder in the context of the Unit/Zone? Major Challenges:- Low awareness and appreciation of HR processes among the workforce. Units are situated in remote locations where communication networks are erratic. Due to the remoteness of the location, possibilities of visits to the unit locations are few. Most of the workforce is comfortable communicating in the vernacular and there is an unstated preference for it.

4) Principal Accountabilities Accountability Supporting Actions - Initiating and maintain contact with Placement Cells of Institutes. Young Talent - Work with them to build EMIL brand on campus so as to attract best quality students. - Scheduling and executing placement processes in campuses - Planning and executing an induction for familiarization and value addition to the trainees Performance Management Training and Development Ensure Goal setting, Mid Year Review and Annual Appraisals are completed within given timelines Plan and deliver capability building around PMS Consolidating training needs at the business level Nominating senior managers for training programs and ensuring they are attended and benefited from Sanitize new employees about OHS Share action plan of previous OHS Monitor initiatives under Add More

Qualification & Experience: Qualification: - Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in HRM/PMIR Experience: Ideal candidate should have between 3-5 yrs of generalist experience in managing HR
