Lathe
A Lathe is an important and oldest known machine tool in any workshop. The job to be turned is held and rotated in a chuck, or face plate, or catch plate, or between centers. A suitable cutting tool is advanced against rotating job. Since the cutting tool material is harder than the work piece, themetal is easilyremovedfromthejobintheformofchip.Asinglepointcuttingtoolisusedtoremovematerial. PLUMBING
Whatisplumbing? Plumbing is the art of design, installation and maintenance of pipe, pipe fittings and other accessoriesinabuildingtosupplywater. Plumbing includes all the piping and fixtures that provide water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry; as well as a means of disposing waste water. Plumbers rely on math to make accurate measurementsandcalculationssoallthepipesandtanksfittogethertoworkproperly. There are two types of Plumbing Systems one is Water Supply System another one is Drainage, Waste, and Venting (DWV). Water supply system distributes water under pressure throughout the structure for drinking, bathing, cooking, and laundry. DWV system carries away waste water and solidwastefrombathrooms, kitchens, andlaundries.Thissubsystemisnotunderpressure, andmust beproperlyisolatedtopreventwastewaterfromenteringthedrinkingwatersupply. ThePlumber: Plumberisapersoninvolvedintheartofplumbing. WhatisPVCpipe? Apolyvinyl chloride(PVC) pipe is made from a plastic andvinylcombination material. The pipes are durable, resistant to damage, and long lasting. A PVC pipe does notrust, rot, or wear over time. For those reasons, PVC piping is mostcommonlyusedinwatersystems, undergroundwiring, andsewerlines. PVC was first developed in 1925 when a BF Goodrich employee, Dr. Waldo Semon, attempted to invent a method for bonding metal and rubber. After blending materials together to create a strong and flexible material, Semon discovered PVC. Nonetheless, the productremainedvirtuallyuselessforanotherdecade.Inthelate1930's,PVCwasfoundtohave great shock absorbing abilities. This discovery led to the creation of long lasting PVC tire treads, whichwerecreatedwithflexibleformsofPVC. WhatisGI(GalvanizedIron)pipe? These pipes are widely used for conveying raw water and distribution of treated water in majority of rural water supply schemes, where the requirement of water is less. Mostly medium quality GI pipes are used. These pipes are cheap, and easy to handle and transport and easy to join. Theirsizesvaryfrom15mmto150mm. electricalwork. Simple plumbing tasks only require a few tools, most commonly a wrench while larger plumbing jobs use a variety of tools which includes wrenches and other tools used to measure, align, mark, cut, reamandthread.

Measuringtools:Rulers,Measuringtapesandsquares Markingtools:Pencil, chalk, compass, anddivider. Cuttingtools:Varioussaws, files, chisels, snips, andpipecutters. Reaming and threading tools: Reaming is used to make a perfect hole, after drilling and before thread cutting Adjustable wrench: The adjustable wrench is often considered one of the most versatile of tools. While ordinary wrenches can be used on a particular size of pipe, adjustablewrenchescanfitamuchwidervarietyofsizes. Teflon Tape: This is an essential tool for preventing leakage at threaded plumbing joint connections. Teflon tape is a versatile, common, inexpensive thin white tape used to effectivelysealpipethreadsbeingjoinedtogetherforplumbingpurposessuchas shower heads and threaded water line connections. It's also used to seal air and gas from leaking through threaded connections like at your dryer. Known technically as PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene), it is silky in texture and being strongintension,itbreaksinastringymanner.Teflontapeissoldinsmallrolls. Pipecutter When a plastic or metal pipe needs to be cut cleanly and quickly, a pipe cutter is the ideal tool for the job. Using a saw can be difficult and messy, and using a hinged scissor like cutting tool with two opposing blades will often produce undesirableeffectssuchascrimpingorbreakingoftheend ofthepipe, especiallyonthosemadeofmetal.Therearetwomajordifferenttypes of pipe cutters plastic pipe cutters and metal pipe cutters.
