Phase 3

1) Make School course search left of browser functional. Make advanced


the plus sign functional.

2) The browse tab at top should be changed to "Networks" and when it


is clicked it should have the following function: go to coursehero.com
and click on browse. Essentially what it is This will have a list
starting with their university and the option of changing to another
university. When they search their university it will yield the
Departments, the number of courses of each department, and the number
of documents and what type of document. When user signs in the forum
that shows lecture notes, homework, exams, etc will be of only their
own school, that means it will only show the work uploaded from their
own school. When they change school they change the docs that show in
the foru,m of lecture notes, homework, exams, etc. Important thing is
they can be searching more than one school. That means if they choose
the school MIT and Harvard, the forum will show docs for both schools.
Please refer to coursehero.com and go to browse to see what i am
talking about.

3) On top right there will be a link called Account and "Sign Out."
The purpose of account will have the basic information of user school,
password, how many docs uploaded, subscription, favorites etc.

4) Make invite functional! Basically they just get to email their


friends here about the site and use facebook to contact friends.

5) Change color of Ajax to the blue color of Grade Buddy

6) For post when 2 or more docs are uploaded, I want it to say: "The
following documents (over here Asif it will list all the names of the
documents that were uploaded with a check box, this means that if lets
say 2 docs are uploaded but they are completely different and user
does not want it at all to share the following, then they leave the
boxes unchecked and they click the next tab and it will show the 2
docs but both are blank because no information was filled.

7) Add subject to textbook solutions which you already did

8) Post section. Please embed departments in the department section.


But how I want it to be is that each school that is signed up for has
their own department embedded. Also how it going to be setup up is
like this: there will be the department abbreviation and then the full
name of the department. So lets say student type "SE" then the full
name of department appears: "Structural Engineering" and it will be in
this format SE- Structural Engineering. So lets say someone types that
department up and for class id they choose "170." So for the browse
section the course in the browse results will be listed as SE 170-
Structural Engineering. Ask about if it can be saved?????

9) Please take away anonymous in post section and in "my course


forums" section.

10) When 2 or more docs are uploaded, instead of the 2nd page show all
docs that are uploaded, each page should just show docs one at a time.

11) On the bottom of each post page should be a section called "Quick
Picks (tag information)" – what this section does is every time
someone posts some type of information in post, it saves it and next
time they can just go to quick pick section and click on the saved
information and it adds it for them. Also they should be able to make
their own personalized quick picks

12) For textbook solutions, I will need a system basically in which


students can ask each other questions and students will respond to
each other. For a better example, please refer to:
answerboard.cramster.com. This is pretty much a copy of what I need.

13) The top page should always tell you the location that you are of
the site: For example: Home >> Lecture Notes. And each one should be a
link so you can go back to the page.

14) Also for viewing docs I also want to add the category of "school."

15) I would like to add a Browse section for textbooks. The browse
section will be searched based on: Subject, Title, Author.
The tab "Networks" should have the following function: go to coursehero.com
and login (username: szaman@ucsd.edu password: jlife26. When you login, go to the
browse tab and that’s the function that should be copied. Essentially what it is This will
have a list

- Instead of saying “UCSD courses” instead it should say only the name of the
school.
- The search tab should be changed to a nicer one.
- When the + sign is clicked then the slot is removed and 2 check boxes appear>
the first check box is called “course search” and the 2nd check box is called
“document search.” When either check box is clicked a dynamic textbox appears.
Please refer to coursehero to see how they conduct it. Also please make the setup
different than coursehero.

3) On top right there will be a link called Account and "Sign Out." Sign out will just
sign out the user and take them to the intro page. Also I want to add the to the left
of account a mail icon in which it says the number of new messages they get. ( I
will pay extra for this).

The purpose of account will have the basic information of user school,
password, how many docs uploaded, subscription, favorites etc.

When the mouse button is put on the account tab a list comes out with the following
options: Favorites, Subscription, My Library, Inbox, more . . .

- If the “account” link or the “more . . .” link is clicked then I want it to take them
to the next page. The next page will be like youtube.com. Go sign in under the
username: drzaman and password: jlife26
- Then go to the top right hand of site and click on account. This is how I want the
page to be.
- Instead of the user name “drzaman” I want it to first say their real name
- “Soheil Zaman (drzaman).” The profile picture that will be displayed will be the
picture that is used for My course forums in Waqas’s section. For subscriptions I
want it to say
- 1) When they became a member called “Member since”
- 2) When subscriptions is over called “Expiration of subscription” (this will be
controlled by admin.
- 3) How many documents are being processed which will be called “Documents
being processed” this which will also be controlled by admin.

- For my videos I want it to say “My Documents.” For uploaded videos I want it to
say “My Library” and Favorites will be “Favorites.” This is where the documents
will go when user clicks on the heart. User should also be able to remove docs
from favorites. For Inbox I want it to say “Messages” but for “General Messages”
I want it to just say:

1) Compose
2) Inbox
3) Outbox

- please follow the functions of youtbe.com

For “Account”

I want:
1) School (the ability to change the school that appears)
2) Email options (just the ability to change the email)
3) Change Password
4) Delete Account ( however if they delete their account, I do not want their docs to
be removed).

1) Borders of flash paper need to be bigger. The boarders


should be big enough that you can fully view a doc. without
having to scroll left or right when it is at 115%. Also the
standard size that it should be at is 100%

1) There are still bugs in the upload system that have not been fixed. These include
but are not limited to:

a) Currently only 2 types of documents can be uploaded: word and pdf. However it
was suppose to be fixed that every type of doc can be upload from jpg, txt etc.
b) When only 1 doc is uploaded, the title of the document should be at the top of the
page in which it cannot be edited.
c) The University option should not only have the school that the user goes to, but
also all the other schools that are in database that have been entered by users.
d) When 2 or more documents are uploaded, it wont let you go to the 2nd page until
you enter all the information on the first page. This is applicable only when one
wants to “publish” something- then only must all the information that is required
to be there.
e) When 2 or more documents have been uploaded, and the category that is chosen
is chosen is lecture notes, the date although it works fine for the 1st page, does not
work fine for the 2nd page. What I mean by this is that for the 2nd page the date is
listed as: Term, year, month/year. When in reality the onlt things that should be
listed are Term and month/year.
f) For category the suboption of Lecture notes should always be there for default.
g) Also recently the whole upload page has been shifted down to the bottom, that
also should be fixed.

2) Please make the browse results active. This means the views and the rating.
However the rating should be stars and instead of "0 votes cast" it should say
"0 Ratings."

6) When either “information” “Actions, or “statistics and Data” are clicked, it


should be dented just like youtube.com.

7) The “edit” button has a mistake. When the category of lecture notes is
chosen, the date is also incorrect. Also I don’t even now where the data is
sent to in the admin when date is changed.

8) When a doc is flagged or added as a favorite, the user should go to the page
and the in that section it should say: “Flagged” or “Favorited.” Also when a
doc is flagged, in the admin section it should be able to be deleted.

9) The “post” tab should be changed to a nicer looking tab. Also the comments
should be changed back to the blue color of Grade Buddy instead of the
grey.

10)The “Back to top” link should take the individual to the top of the page, not
to information.

11) The bookmark tab when the mouse goes on it, it should reveal a list instead of
having to click it and then opening up a new page.

12) The “My course forums” is not functional.

13) The last part is the textbook solutions.

a) For scan 1 it is fine, but for scan 2 it is still not correct. First and foremost, when
the book is clicked it should automatically take you to scan 3 instead of edit. To
edit the textbook should be a different function.
b) Also the size of the book and how the information is detailed should be the same
as chemistry.cramster.com.
c) For scan 3, the new method of adding problems is improved. But at the right hand
side there should be a link in which admin can go back to the old way of adding
problems just in case.
d) How the problems are listed in user side is still not showing correctly.

Getting Directed
Fill out the schools you are associated with to gain access to relevant documents.

1) Move the “Almost there . . . getting a Buddy” to the top of the page and space out
the 1 and Getting Directed
2) “Fill out the schools . . .” please make the font bigger.
3) The “Class Year” should be moved to the right . . .
4) The setup for “Major” “Minor” “Concentration” etc is weirldy
