Bawa Mara accepted the existence of a rich variety of supernatural entities as self-evident. Her terminology for invisible beings and/or subconscious qualities often overlaps. She used the term zi for concepts like life, life force, breath and creature where humans and animals are concerned and digir or stems with zel and lil for benevolent beings . However, the prophetess was far more interested in the exorcism of the malevolent types. She used the words galla and giddim where depression, melancholia, fear and obsessions were concerned. Her incantations for schizoid and schizoform disturbances contain the words udug and l. In formulas against vampirism the reader encounters lamma, whilst erel, and lilit were employed against poltergeistic and related activities.
