Calculating the volume (dimensional) weight:


Volume =Length x width x Height in CM ( Centimetres ) or IN (inches)

Volume Weight Rounding Rule:


When Calculating volume weight in kilograms ( Kgs), the results shall be rounded up to the next higher whole or half kilograms. If in pounds (lbs.), round up to the next higher whole pound. For example: 2.4 kgs rounds to 2.5 kgs, 4.2 lbs. rounds to 5 lbs.

Volume Rounding Rule:


Before calculating the volume of an air shipment, any half or larger fractions of a centimeter or inch shall be rounded up to the next higher whole centimeter or inch. For smaller fractions, round to the next lower whole centimeter or inch For example: 2.6 CM rounds to 3 CM, 5.3 IN rounds to 5 IN.

Incoterms
What are Incoterms?
Incoterms or International Commercial TERMS are a set of simple three latter codes which represent the different ways international shipments may be organised. They allow seller and buyers forms different cultures and legal systems to decide at what point the ownership And paying for freight, Insurance and customs costs transfer from one to the other.

There are four groups of Incoterms E,F,C&D Group E: EXW or EX Works (named Place)
Under EXW, the seller minimizes his risk by only making the goods available at his own premises. Carriage of goods to be arranged by the buyer. Risk transfers forms the seller to the buyer when the goods are at the disposal of the buyer. Cost transfers from the seller to the buyer when the goods are at

the disposal of the buyer.

Group F;
Under f terms, and under FCA unless otherwise arranges and pays for the pre- carriage in the country of export.

FCA or Free Carrier (named place);


Carriage of goods to be arranged by the buyer or by the seller on buyers behalf. Risk transfers forms the seller to the buyer when goods have been delivered to the carrier at the named places. Cost transfers form the seller to the buyer when the goods have been delivered to the carrier at the named place.

FAS or Free alongside SHIP (named port):


Carried of goods arranged by the buyer. Risk transfers forms the seller to the buyer when the goods have been placed alongside the ship. Cost transfers forms the seller to the buyer when the goods have been placed alongside the ship.

FOB or Free on board (named places)


Carriage of goods to be arranged by the buyer. Risk transfer from the seller to buyer when the goods pass the ships or train. Cost transfers forms the seller to the buyer when the goods pass the ships or train.

Group C:
CFR or cost, Insurance to be arranged by the seller. Risk transfers from the seller to the buyer when the goods pass ships or train. Cost transfer at the port of destination, buyer paying such costs as are not for the sellers account under the contract of carriage.

CIF or Cost, Insurance& freight (named port)


Carriage of goods to be arranged by the seller. Risk transfers from the seller to the buyer when the goods pass ships or train. Cost transfer at the port of destination, buyer paying such costs as are not for the sellers account under the contract of carriage

CPT or Carriage Paid To (named places):


Carriage of goods to be arranged by the seller Risk transfers form the seller to the buyer when the good are delivered to the carrier Cost transfers at the port of destination, buyer paying such costs as are not for the seller account under the contract of carriage

CIP or carriage & Insurance Paid (named places):


Carriage of good to be arranged by the seller. Risk transfers form the seller to the buyer when the goods are delivered to the carrier. Cost transfers at port of destination, buyer paying such costs as are not for the sellers account under the contract of carriage

Group D:
Under D terms, the sellers cost /risk is maximized because he must make the goods available upon arrival at the agreed destination.

DAP or Delivered at place


Seller pays for carriages to the named place, except for costs related to import clearance, and assumes all risks prior to the point that the goods are already for unloading by the buyer.

DAT or Delivered at terminal


Seller pays for carriage to the terminal, except for costs related ti import clearance, and assumes all risks up to the point that the goods are unloaded at the terminal. DDP or Delivered Duty unpaid (named place) Carriage of goods to be arranged by the seller. Risk transfers form the seller to the buyer when the goods are placed at the disposal of the buyer. Cost transfer from the seller to the buyer when goods are placed at the disposal of the buyer

CPT or Carriage Paid To (named places): Carriage of goods to be arranged by the seller Risk transfers form the seller to the buyer when the good are delivered to the carrier Cost transfers at the port of destination, buyer paying such costs as are not for the seller account under the contract of carriage CIP or carriage & Insurance Paid (named places): Carriage of good to be arranged by the seller. Risk transfers form the seller to the buyer when the goods are delivered to the carrier.
