1. GENERAL INFORMATION
There are two PSM-DC1006 Power System Monitor programs: PSM-DC 1006 Serial - for a computer connected to the power system's controller via a serial cable or a modem.
PSM-DC 1006 Net - for a computer connected to the power system's controller via the ethernet. These programs are password-protected. Each time you log onto the program a password is requested the first time you try to change one of the settings or perform an action. You are not allowed to do this if you do not respond with the correct password.

When the pop-up notification is enabled, PSM-DC1006 sends a pop-up message for various types of events. The message text for each kind of alarm is defined in the Pop-Up Messages tab. You can modify the message text if you so desire. If the UPS recovers from an alarm condition, a notification message is also generated. The text of the recovery message is defined in the Recovered Alarm Notifications sub-tab of the Pop-Up Messages Tab. You can modify the text of the recovery message if you like.

Go Floating Returns the batteries to normal charge mode Go Boost (Equalizing) - Changes the battery charge mode to Boost or Equalizing mode. An equalize charge is often defined as a controlled overcharge. In reality it is a true 100% full charge of your battery bank. Since finishing the last ten percent of a full charge takes a disproportionately long amount of time and is less efficient in energy use, we do not recommend you attempt to complete a full charge every time you charge. In the Set Values tab of the Settings screen ( ) you can define a regular interval of days after which an equalizing charge is automatically performed.
The equalize charge should be accomplished at least once per month to ensure that the individual cells within the batteries are fully charged, equal to one another, and that the electrolyte is stirred up by the gassing of the cells. Test - Manually starts a test of the power system's batteries. The time remaining in the test is displayed on the screen for the duration of the

Q: Why don't I receive the temperature sensor status? A: From 17/10/02 the controller software supports the temperature sensor status feature. If the mouse is over the temperature indicator in the main PSM-DC1006 screen the tool tip shows the status of the two temperature sensors. If there is a fault in one of the sensors, a Temp. Sensor Fault led is lit on the Fault Status panel. In controller software revisions from before 17/10/02 the tool tip is: Not Supported. Q: Why are there no new entries in the alarm log? A: The date of the controller is wrong. The first thing to do after installing the controller and the software is to check that the controller date is updated and update it if necessary.
