INT. MOUNT OLYMPUS, A STARK WHITE ROOM The room is endlessly white, with no real borders or tangible end. The room is devoid of all sound, except for the crisp footsteps of the approaching Athena. Zeus sits in a throne and Athena enters the frame, hoping to persuade Zeus to aid Odysseus in getting home. ATHENA Father Zeus! Have you a heart of lead? Do you not feel sympathy for Odysseus? I guess that from now on all kings ought rule with an iron fist, never once thinking of justice. He remains a captive on the island home to the nymph Calypso. He cannot head for home without an oared ship to carry him over the seas wide back: and men plot to murder his beloved son who is journeying home after seeking news of his fatherZEUS (speaking O.G. Ghetto) -Oh my child! What the f**k are you tryin to say? Wasnt this your plan for Odysseus to return and take vengeance on all them bad mother f****rs? You should be doing it yourself! As for Tele-machus, direct him wisely so he dont get bitch-slapped by those suitors. Hermes! Zeus bellows for Hermes, and Hermes appears from thin air. HERMES You called father? Hermes leans in close, to hear what Zeus has to say. ZEUS (To Hermes) Our beloved Messenger, would you please go inform that fine nymph Calypso that Odysseus shall return without help of gods or mortal men, but with great suffering he shall come, on a makeshift raft to Scherias rich soil.

HERMES Hold on, let me see what my schedule is like... Hermes pulls out a daily planner and scans for todays date. ZEUS Boy, I aint got time for yo s**t. Haul your ass down to Ogygia and tell Calypso whats up! HERMES Will do. Hermes puts on his shoes and flies to Ogygia. CAMERA ZOOMS DOWN TO THE ISLAND HOME OF CALYPSO, OGYGIA. EXT. CAVE ENTRANCE Hermes falls from the sky and lands at the entrance of a sizable cave on the beach. We walks into the cave nonchalantly. INT. CALYPSOS CAVE Calypso is sitting in her cave. She looks up and is surprised to see Hermes at the entrance. CALYPSO Hermes, god of the golden wand, what brings you here to my humble abode? Its been too long since we last saw each other. Please, sit. HERMES With all due respect, there is no chair for me to sit on. CALYPSO Look again. Hermes looks at his feet and a chair has appeared. Calypso is already sitting. CALYPSO Ambrosia? Calypso offers a jar of Nutella to Hermes, which he accepts and begins to eagerly snack on.

CALYPSO You were in the middle of telling me why youre visiting? HERMES (through mouthfuls of "ambrosia") Ill tell you the whole story from one god to another. Zeus made me come, no choice of mine. Athena is displeased that youve been keeping Odysseus captive on your island for so long. How long has it been, 7 years? Anyways, now Zeus wants Odysseus to come home, and he must come back by his own terms, we arent giving him any ship to sail by. However you must release him, or else suffer Zeus wrath. CALYPSO Oh, ok. I see the real problem here. So when a goddess openly sleeps with a mortal man they are scandalized, but if a god sleeps with a mortal woman? Everyone looks the other way as if its not every happening! Its pathetic. HERMES Just do what Zeus says, ok? (gets up) Thank you for the ambrosia, but I gotta fly. I have a lunch date with Dionysus, and you know how much he drinks without someone there to control him. See ya! Hermes flys off, and Calypso begrudgingly gets up to search for Odysseus. EXT. BEACH Odysseus lies in the fetal position on the shore, his cries audible from hundreds of feet away. Calypso begrudgingly approaches him with a fake smile plastered on her face. CALYPSO Turn that frown upside down, todays your lucky day!

ODYSSEUS (head still buried in his chest) What could possibly make this day better than any other? CALYPSO Because today Ive decided that you may return to your family. You must do so using your own devices, but Ive had a... change of heart. You can go. Odysseus looks up with a confused glare, a mixture of excitement and rage. ODYSSEUS (getting up) Im sorry, did I hear that correctly? After seven, SEVEN years of my constant begging and weeping, youve just now decided to let me go? No, surely youre plotting something against me. CALYPSO I speak the truth. ODYSSEUS Then prove it to me. I wont set foot on a raft unless you swear a binding oath blessing my safe passage across this vast sea. CALYPSO (annoyed) With Earth and the heavens as my witness, I swear by the greatest, grimmest oath on the river Styx, that I will never double-cross you or trick you. Never. No fingers crossed. You happy? ODYSSEUS Y-yeah. I... Its just hard to believe that Im finally going home. I can finally see my only child as a grown man. I can hold sweet Penelope in my arms... CALYPSO Woah, there lets not get ahead of ourselves there cowboy. We still (MORE) (CONTINUED)

CALYPSO (contd) have the rest of the evening to stay together, and I plan on making the most of it. LATER... Calypso and Odysseus are seen playing go fish. CALYPSO Got any twos? ODYSSEUS Dammit. (hands over card) CALYPSO God, I love this game. EXT. BEACH, THE NEXT MORNING MONTAGE: TIGHT CLOSE-UPS OF ODYSSEUS HANDS AND FACE AS HE BUILDS HIS RAFT. Odysseus steps back at his creation in admiration. It is a donut-shaped pool float. Odysseus throws his vessel into the ocean and settles on top of it. He paddles father into the ocean as the camera fades to black. THUNDER AND CRASHING WAVES ARE HEARD AS ODYSSEUS RIDES THROUGH A SUPPOSED THUNDERSTORM. HIS SCREAMS ARE AUDIBLE, BUT ODYSSEUS FATE IS UNKNOWN. EXT. SCHERIA, BEACH Odysseus walks from the shore, his clothes tattered, his body on the verge of collapse. He closes his eyes and breathes a sigh of relief. He made it.
