 Pre-Commissioning test of equipments in new stations. Testing of equipments of consumers at their request. Any other works assigned.

Laboratory:
Testing of Consumer 11kV CT & PT and LT Current Transformers. Testing of Relays. Testing of Energy meters. Evaluation of ETV meters. Testing and issue of calibration reports for all meters and calibrators. Any other works assigned.

Office:
Assisting EEE in the Division activities. Submitting monthly statistics. Calling enquiries for vehicle repair works. Calling enquires for supply of materials. Placing purchase orders. Any other work assigned

Transformers Repairs Sub-Division:

Testing of failed transformers. Inspection of transformers at repair bay after lifting from main tank. Preparing estimates as per actual after inspection. Monitoring and co-ordination, like shifting of failed transformer to repair bay,inspection,sanction of estimates at concern TL&SS Divisions, assisting in etendering, shifting the transformer to repairer place, etc. with concern Transmission zone. Monitoring of repair works taken up in Bangalore. Arranging for transformer oil. Getting allotment of repaired transformer to needy station. Co-Ordinate to complete store transaction with respective TL & SS Divisions. Checking the bills and entering in measurement book and sending the bill to concern TL & SS division for payment. Attending minor repairs at repair bay.

 Attending bushings/leakage troubles at stations. Any other works assigned. .

Accounts Section:

Section is headed by an Accounts Officer. This section is working in R.T.North Division only. The section is of BESCOM,but working under EEE,RTND. Looks after the accounts works of R.T.Circle, R.T.South division, R.T.North divison of KPTCL and M.T.Division of BESCOM. All payment works like payment of Employees salary, Double wages,T.A.Bills,Leave surrender bills, etc. Imprest bills,Telephone bills, Vehicle bills, fuel bills,etc. Maintaining seniority list of ME staff and their promotions. Maintaining service and scale registers. All establishment related matters. Store accounts. T&P accounts.

Stores:
Store is in RTND division only. Maintaining of store materials. Receipt and issue of store materials. Issue of fuel coupons and follow up action for submission of fuel bills for payment. Preparing MAS. Any other work assigned.

OTHERS
Out of 3 nos. Asst.Exec.Engineers, 2 posts were shifted to Chief Engineer,Electy, RT and APR office Kaveri Bhavan, Bangaloee. Now the R.T.Circle is working with only one Executive Engineer,one Asst.Exec.Engineer and 3 nos. Assistant Engineers. At least one more Asst.Executive Engineer,is required for the cicle, since the circle has to cover both Bangalore and Tumkur transmission zones. The Transformers repair sub-division sanctioned for RT south division is till today not operated and recently the Asst.Exec.Enginner post of this sub-division is shifted to CEE, RT & APR office. Hence the remaining posts of Assistant Engineer and ME staff are to be shifted to vacant posts of Kolar RT sub-divisons and Chitradurga division. Chitradurga division is in operation since 2007 with only Executive Engineer and Asst.Exec.Enginner(Office) with head quarters as Chitradurga and one routine sub-division at Davanagere. This sub-division has to look after the calibration of IPP installations and attending to the breakdowns of IPP in addition to routine works. Presently the RT staff of Tumkur are attending almost all works of Chitradurga division. Hence sanctioning of 4 no. of Sub-Divisions to Chidtadurga division is required on top priority. Majority of the Divisions and Sub-Divisions are using hired vehicles. The sanctioned posts of drivers of these sub-divisions can be used at needy places. At present Tumkur RT division is looking after all the RT activities of Tumkur and Kolar works and Maintenance circles. There are 141 nos of stations in Tumkur area and 77 nos. of stations in Kolar area. Hence a RT Division at Kolar is required.

 The latest correspondence for sanction of subdivisions of RT Chitradurga was sent by CE RT & APR on 12.01.2009. The latest correspondence for sanction of subdivisions of RT Division at Kolar was sent by CE RT& APR on 26.02.2009.

Procedures followed during repairing of failed Transformers: Transformer will be tested at site to know the type of fault. Transformer is to be moved to repair bay for inspection. TL and SS division will arrange for moving the transformer to repair bay. After detail inspection, depending upon the damage caused to the transformer and life served by the transformer, it will be decided after detail discussion with higher authorities whether the transformer is to be repaired or to be scrapped. If decided to go for repairs, approximate estimate will be prepared for calling tenders. Letter will be addressed to the concerned transmission zone Chief Engineer, Elecy., with a request to call for e-tendering. After opening the tenders, Letter of indent/Work award will be issued by the concerned zonal offices to the repairer to take-up the repair works. Then transformer will be lifted to the repairer premises for repairs. Joint inspection will be conducted to assess the quantum of actual repairs required t o be carried out. Estimate will be prepared based on the joint inspection and submitted for sanction. Repair work will be monitored at regular intervals. After repair work is completed, transformer will be subject to final acceptance test and if the transformer passes the tests, the transformer will be allotted to the needy station. After receipt of Bills, same will be verified and will be forwarded to the concerned TL& SS division for payment.

 This process is a long process and requires more time for repairing of each transformer. Hence an easy method is to be studied and implemented to go for repairs at lesser time.
