1. Who can participate?

This programme is meant for: Incoming Erasmus students, studying Hotel Management or Tourism at one of our partner universities/university colleges.

2. Entry requirements
Selection The application of incoming Erasmus students is valid on condition that they have been selected by their home institution. The home institution has to be a partner with a bilateral agreement with Plantijn University College Antwerp and/or Lessius University College Mechelen. English proficiency All FlaHosT courses are taught in English, with the exception of the foreign language courses (French, German and Spanish). As we want to guarantee the quality of our English programmes, incoming Erasmus students are required to master an adequate level of the English language at the start of the programme. It is mandatory that the students do the Language Evaluation Test via www.testpodium.com (or equivalent test programme) under supervision of their Erasmus coordinator. Students need to reach minimum level B2, in all components.. We expect all applicants to present a truthful file concerning their English skills and to take the test in advance and if necessary brush up their knowledge before arrival. In case of doubt, we reserve the right to test students again. Failure in this test can lead to the annulment of the learning agreement. In that case we do not take any responsibility for possible costs and other kinds of damage, as a consequence. The student can also be obliged to follow English course(s) during his/her Erasmus period in Belgium.

3. Academic recognition
Plantijn University College and Lessius University College award 30 ECTS credits for one semester. Credits are awarded only when the course has been completed and all required examinations have been successfully taken.

5. EILC: Dutch language course and Belgian Culture & Economy

In order to get a maximum benefit from your stay in Belgium, we strongly recommend everyone to take a Dutch language course. Even though FlaHosT is a study programme in English, it is advisable to learn some survival Dutch. Erasmus students coming to Belgium also have the opportunity to get to know the Belgian culture and economy. The language course and the course Belgian Culture and Economy not only provide a linguistic and cultural preparation, it is also an excellent opportunity to socialize with other foreign students and to make new friends in a new environment and feel at home. We believe this is the first step to grow as world citizen, acquainted with different cultures. Applications for participation in an EILC Erasmus Intensive Language Course - should be submitted electronically to the international office of the students home institution. They will be responsible for forwarding the application to the EILC organizing institution in Antwerp, Belgium, directly. For more information and the application form, go to: http://ec.europa.eu/education/programmes/llp/erasmus/eilc/index_en.html. Please register in time. Deadline for submissions is 31 May 2013.
