Syndications & Structured Finance Syndications & Structured Finance Unit (SSFU) of the Bank has started its

journey in 2004 to complete Bank's Corporate Banking needs by sharing risks and providing efficient financing arrangements for profitable economic undertakings. The unit offers customized, friendly, and flexible financial solutions to its clientele and attempts to ensure financial package in a costeffective manner. Syndications finance is the efficient process to manage fund raising based on client's strong performance in cash flow. Rather than other assets being used as collateral for the Loan, funds are advanced based on the history that indicate a consistent flow of cash into the borrower's business that will allow for the timely and orderly repayment of the Loan amount. The unit is staffed with experienced and skilled professionals with in-depth product and market knowledge. The Team specializes in project financing and covers virtually every sector of the economy. Background: Dhaka Bank is the dominant, tested and proven name in loan syndication market. The unit has also raised Working Capital facility to the tune of BDT 578.00 Crore as Lead Arranger for most of the above transactions. ACCESS TO SPECIALIZED FUND The Bank does have an access to USD 250 million and newly allocated USD 257 million infrastructure fund under Investment Promotion Financing Facility (IPFF), managed by Bangladesh Bank, and endowed jointly by the World Bank and Govt. of Bangladesh (GoB). The Bank does also have the access to Infrastructure Development Company (www.idcol.org), a nonbank financial institution created by GoB and International Development Association (IDA) for arranging infrastructure related project financing. Till date, the Unit has arranged two power projects and one environmental project utilizing the facility from IPFF. PORTFOLIO The Term Loan exposure under Syndication is BDT 659.38 Crore as of 31-Dec-2010, which is diversified in the following sectors: Sl.
