PRACTICAL TEACHING
Lesson : Reading

The English teacher must have the following qualification to attract student in studying English language: 1. Fluency in speaking with correct pronunciation. 2. Ability to choose interesting chapter within the area of students knowledge. 3. Mastery of English Language. 4. Ability to use medium of teaching. 5. Ability to explain difficult word (to put it in complete sentence or to use visual aid). 6. Ability to conclude the lesson using a simple expression or explanation familiar to the students knowledge. 7. Ability to explain the difficult sentences or phrases. 8. Mastery of different knowledge and sciences closely related to the lesson. The steps in teaching English Lesson: Preparation (teacher prepares everything will be used in teaching before entering the class). A. Introduction 1. Greeting (teacher says assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh when enters the class). 2. Controlling the class (teacher orders students to arrange their sit and their learning instruments if those have not been arranged well). 3. Questioning or informing the lesson and writing it on the blackboard, then writing the date with the students participation.

2 4. Declaring his position in teaching as a teacher for teaching practice. B. Preface (asking questions leads to the new chapter, then writing the chapter on the blackboard. C. Explanation and Conclusion 1. Mentioning new vocabulary and writing it then explaining its meaning. 2. Putting the new words in the sentences to emphasize students understanding. 3. Explaining the chapter and relating it to other things, which help students to understand the lesson, then teacher discusses it with students to conclude the lesson. 4. Reading text in the book as an example for students. 5. Asking students one by one to read the book and correcting their mistakes at the end of sentences. 6. All students read the book in low voice and look for difficult word then ask it the teacher (if possible). 7. Students ask the teacher the meaning of difficult words, then the teacher or other students answer the questions. (Steps 6 and 7 are done of possible). 8. The teacher (or students) read the writing on the blackboard (while teacher corrects it) and the students pay their attention to the correction. 9. Students write down what on the blackboard while the teacher controls them then reads name list of students. 10. Students read the lesson in low voice to prepare for answering the questions doing evaluation sunder teachers control then the teacher cleans the writing on the blackboard.

3 D. Evaluation. 1. Questions about the lesson. 2. Questions about the meaning of the new words and putting them in the complete sentences. 3. Talking briefly about the lesson. E. Closing Advising and suggesting the students to study hard then greets asslamulaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh before going out of the class.

The qualification of English Conversation Teacher are: 1. Having qualification for the English tacher. 2. Having ability to use different kinds of medium of teaching. 3. Ability to arrange the main idea of chapter in every sentences. 4. Ability to make students speaking and expressing their mind. The steps in teaching English Conversation: A. Introduction 1. Greeting (teacher says assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh when enters the class). 2. Controlling the class (teacher orders students to arrange their sit and their learning instruments if those have not been arranged well)

4 3. Questioning or informing the lesson and writing it on the blackboard, then writing the date with the students participation. 4. Talking about all the points systematically from the first till the last and then asking a certain students to talk about all the points. 7. The teacher reads the writing on the blackboard or orders one of students to read it, while he corrects the mistakes of the students reading. 8. Students write the lesson in their notebook teacher controls them and then reads the call roll. 9. The teacher asks some students to read what their writing in their notebooks. 10. Student permitted to ask the teacher about the lesson or language, if it is necessary. D. Evaluation

Closing Advising and suggesting the students to study hard then greets assamulaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh before going out of the class.
