Hab 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see

what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
I really dont know where to start. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to visit Hungary. It was his leadership that led many people to pray and give so that I would be able to go for a month. As everyone knows it was my desire and prayer to take my family. God did not provide for this. I can spend time to wonder why, maybe my faith was too small or maybe I am not worthy to be trusted with so much yet. Whatever the reason was that God did not provide the money for my family to go is Gods business and not mine to worry about. God blessed me with a great flight there and back; I arrived over tired and exhausted at the same time if that is possible and quickly went to work about ministry work.

I was allowed the privilege to preach at Bible Baptist of Budapest pastored by Bro Pranger. This was the first chance I had to preach with an interrupter. It was a joy to say the least.

Next I took a train to Debrecen. I wanted this to be a time to see the country but my tired body had other plans. I believe that I was sold too many reservations for the trip. When I gave my 3 tickets to the train guy, he looked at them puzzled and laughed at me. He and the guy that sat next me to me had a good laugh and I was glad I flew 5000 miles to make them smile. Still not sure what I did wrong but God allowed me to arrive safely. Bro Zsolt met me at the train station and led me through the town back to the church. It was about an hour walk to the church and a great time to talk with Bro Zsolt and see up close the beautiful city. I was very glad I had purchased some GOOD luggage; it made a world of difference dragging it on the bumpy sidewalks. Sunday, I was allowed and privileged to give a small gift to Bro Zsolt during the morning service. I had made a prayer card and had it translated to Hungarian and framed it and presented it to the church. For many years they have prayed for more labors and I wanted to encourage them that God does hear them. Bro Walter and his wife were able to join the church for worship and to hear me preach. I was truly honored.

I left Debrecen that evening with Bro Walter and spent the next 2 weeks with him. The team from Grace Baptist of 31 people was coming and Bro Walter asked me to help him in meeting the needs that might arise and to help keep the flow of the tight schedule flowing during their stay in Tinka. There were many challenges and many privileges that came from this time. This was not part of my plan but was clearly part of Gods plan for my trip. It was a joy to serve my friends and church family. Somewhere around March and April I was introduced through Facebook to Mark Gilbertson, He is leading and hosting a house church in Papa Hungary and asked me to stop by for a visit while I was in Hungary. I was able to go and was honored to be accompanied by Benjamin (more on him later). I was able to lead the Sunday school

hour in a lesson from I Corinthians. Paul gave us an example of right living and we should desire to do the same. There were about 35 people in the Papa house church and it would be wonderful to see God develop this into a church that can be strong and remain once these folks move on.

I would like to talk quickly about a few people that God placed in my path; they all equally blessed me and encouraged me. Before this trip I knew none of them. BTW, people are what ministry is about, not the pretty houses or the good food of Hungary, but people. Daniel and Anna Ion: Bro Walter invited them to Tinka to work with him and others during the time that Grace was there. He was able to interrupt for the Americans and lead in worship for VBS and church services. He and his wife are some the finest Christians I have ever met. Above all, they desire to serve Jesus and this is shown in how they serve others. Daniel and I spent many hours together and it was clear that our spirits had a common bond found only in Jesus. I may never see them again till heaven but both have made a great impression on my life. Thank you to both of them. George Stevens: I briefly meet him at a Missions Conference last September but no more than a Hi, how are you? He is now living with his father and mother in Hungary. It was a joy to see his servants heart and desire to see things through to the end. He was used to help keep people informed about any changes in schedules and was used to bridge a language gap with the people of Tinka. Brother Louis: I did not spend a ton of time with him, but the little I did it was encouraged to see a faithful servant of Jesus. He works hard to provide for his family and is used inside the ministry of the church in Debrecen working with Bro Zsolt. I pray for him that God will keep him faithful amidst the spiritual darkness he lives in. Benjamin Dubois: We became friends from the first handshake. I first meet him in Debrecen while preaching for Bro Zsolt. We were able to spend time together both Saturday and Sunday as he along with Bro Louis showed me around the city. Later we met again as he was the translator for the Grace team in Biharkeresztes. Having known that I would be visiting Papa, Benjamin agreed to join me on my trip there. This extended his visit with the Grace team and he would now go to Tinka with us for two days. It was great to see how the Holy Spirit brings people together. Americans are not Hungarians yet we shared the same bond of peace and love for serving Jesus. Benjamin was a huge blessing to me. As we traveled throughout Hungary, we were able to drive and sleep in a rotating pattern which was wonderful. Our time in Papa, I believe was a divine appointment for both of us. I do not know the end of the story yet for our friendship but I pray that our paths cross again soon. He is a great friend and wonderful Brother in Christ. David (the bus driver): His English was perfect, well after being around so many non English people it sounded perfect to me. David was a hired hand in the whole trip. He did not pray for months before Grace showed up. He sacrificed nothing to be there and drive the bus Grace

needed. He simply did his job, and did it well. However, just because he did not pray about this meeting of him and the Grace team does not mean it was not divine. David, as the bus driver simply showed up when told to be there and drove where asked to go. No problem, he would say, we can do that. One of many changes in the schedule included a trip from Bro Walterss home town of Biharkeresztes to Debrecen. This was a R&R break for the Grace team, and a needed one. On the way to Debrecen, Bro Zsolt witnessed to him. I did not know the words said but I knew that Bro Zsolt was witnessing and pleading the cause of Christ before David. Later that night at church David came in. He left his bus, which I dont think he was supposed to and came and sat down in the church service. I believe David is searching and I know Christ is the answer. I prayed much he would accept Christ but as of now I have not heard that he has. Benjamin witnessed to him and he heard the gospel many times while he drove the Grace team around. David commented once that out of all the religious groups he drives for Grace seemed to actual be Christians. I left him my Bible and he was excited to read it in English. I am praying for David, for his lost soul and for the Holy Spirit to draw David to himself.

I know this long and I will end shortly. There were many discouraging times for me on this trip. One was the language, and two was missing Senja. I have never left her for so long and I didnt like it. As for the language barrier, it can be overcome. I witnessed and heard of other things that discouraged me but God will deal with them either in my heart or in the hearts of those that caused the discouragement. I am sure it will be mine. What discouraged me the most was the lack of workers and the need being so great. This is why I went after all, to survey. I started this update with a verse.
Hab 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

I am taking about 6 months with two goals in mind, the first one being to wait upon the Lord. If I cant shake Hungary and the need for churches there then the Lord wont release me from the call to go there. I am waiting and praying and reading the Word to seek for sure that this is what God wants for me and my family. I have pleaded before the Lord and I wait for a clear call from him that only comes from God. I can raise money in my power and go to Hungary but that would be a waste of time and effort if it is not what God wants. Second, I have some personal things that need to be resolved before I move forward with deputation. If you would like to know them I would be glad to share with you individually what they are.

Thank you for your prayers, and support. I know this was long and I tried to shorten as much as possible. One thing I know, putting out monthly prayer letters should never be an issue with me. JDMann.

PS I took a few days to write this letter. In that time I have been contacted by a church in PA and have secured a meeting already. Get this, He emailed me. Praise the Lord.
